Vaccum check valves on DD51t carb

Are the vaccum check valves(black/green-Blue/white) On the carry carb vac line set up of any real importance? Both of mine are completely plugged and permit zero air flow in any direction. I was going to use generic check valves from the local parts store. Anyone see any problems with this?

They're there for a reason... what that reason is exactly I dunno...

Can't see why the generic check valves from the local parts store wouldn't work though. A check valve is a check valve...

Agree with Ronin. They are there to assure control in some manner, depending on the application of where they are installed. Generic Check Valves should do the job.
