I have a 2008 hijet with the KF-VE motor. It runs on #1 & #3 cylinders. #2 has spark and I have moved the coil packs around to see if the problem would move, I have changed position of the fuel injectors to see if the problem would move still the same problem with #2 cylinder. The OBD2 port has no power so I can't read it with my scanner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you listened to the injector with a screw driver or stethoscope? See if it pulses. Have you cranked it over with the plugs in the coils to confirm the coil is firing
3 things needed to run - Fuel, Compression & Spark at right time. ttc has covered 2. Leaking Valves(most likely exhaust), broken Rings or badly worn cyl covers the other. Fred
Yes checked the fuel injectors and the coil both are doing what they're supposed to, check the fuel pressure and it's at 45 psi. In the process of checking valve lash. #2 intake valves are at .003" and the exhaust valves are at .004". #1 exhaust valves are at .008" and intake is at .005". #3 intake valves are at .004" and exhaust valves are at .007". Does anyone know what the lash is supposed to be?
I can look it up in the am. But most engines I have ever set valves on. .003-.006 intake .009-.012 for the exhaust
Thanks ttc, I'll see what I have to do to adjust them. They have the ohc and bucket over the valves. I think I have to remove the timing chain and cams to do the clearances.
Ah that is correct forgot the new engined are bucket over shim. Did you get shims? If not motorcycle shops have them. I can't remember the size for the daihatsu
Ok, checked everything again and actually found that the #2 injector is not pulsing. I assume it's not getting a signal as I swapped out injectors to see if it worked. What else would not allow the injector to not pulse? I've changed the cam position sensor out and still same problem. And on another note I don't have power at the OBD2 port
