Hello all, I found and purchased a small un-loved mini truck and looking to find out more about it so I can possibly fix it up.

Ill post more pictures but here is one of it:
Please let me know if you see this or not.

So it has a small 4 cyl engine in the rear and is 4wd also it has 14 in rims and disk brakes.

I cannot locate the VIN tag to know what year and model it is, anyone know?

It appears the engine is toast, bought it not running but was able to get it to fire. Looking it over closer I found there may not be any coolant in the system. Overflow bottle is empty and the radiator is under the cab, how do you get at it?

How would I go about filling the coolant system and get all the air out? I am thinking of disconnecting a hose at the engine and filling it that way, running it and occasionally taking the hose off and refilling it but there has to be a better way??

    Thanks!

So I found the vin and a decoder pdf on here, didn't exactly line but says a lot.

    Emissions class 1990
    Class 660
    Truck yup...
    660 4wd
    Business type
    ELS 5 Speed 4wd transmission.

I could not find a thread on filling and bleeding the coolant system, can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you

I didn't see the picture, but if it's like most 90's Subaru trucks there's the coolant access under the front passenger seat (on the left hand side). Flip up the seat, and flip up the cover underneath...you should find the rad cap. There should also be a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator that you can access from the front passenger side (outside the cab) just ahead of the tire and a foot or two in.

There should be a coolant drain plug (looks like a hex bolt) next to the oil filter, if you need to drain existing coolant from the engine. There should also be a coolant vent hose on the top of the engine with a green plug in it. Remove the green plug from the vent hose and fill the radiator tank under the seat. Let the air bubble out (maybe shake the truck to help). When it doesn't bubble out air any more, run the engine until it's warm then turn the heat and fans on full. When heat comes out of the vents, you should be good to go. Top up the coolant if necessary.

You can add a bit of coolant to the reserve tank on the side (under the bed).

Hi thanks for the info, I did find the radiator cap under the seat and the radiator drain. I have not had a chance to get it up on jacks to find the oil filter and coolant drain plug yet. All will be good to know before winter as it just has water in it. It has larger issues, I need to get it in to do a compression test on it as it runs poorly, smokes a lot, its white/greyish so suspect its a head gasket issue.

Im trying to get my Subaru 360 finally on the road, just got it running yesterday!
