Locking hub issue...vac line related?

    Hi All,

I am having an issue on my '90 Carry DB51T that I'm having a hard time pinning down. I have an intermittent sound in 2x4 like the left front hub is trying to engage. When I give the 4x4 handle an "up and down" to engage the axle lock, it's disappears. Sounds a lot like some form of issue associated with the auto locking hubs or axle lock.

I know there is a segment of vac tubing going from a "T" near the front transaxle (one portion goes into the transaxle) which goes toward that side of the vehicle that hasn't been replaced...but I have no idea where it goes. I'm thinking that if it is shot, it could be causing issues with the axle lock and leading to my sound.

Anyone have any thoughts/insight about this tubing, where it runs or my thoughts on its implications?

I guess I am somewhat wondering if there is a vac line operated 4x4 actuator somewhere in the front end that I need to replace the line to (if so, I suspect it is the line in question and the reason for my issue).
