20151122_182213.jpg Just got my 2001 Carry in Sept. I call it The Chick Magnet! Didn't take me long to doll it up a little. I love my little mini and it is my everyday driver as they are legal to drive on Ne. roads. Huge thanks for this forum..... I have learned tons!

Looks good! I bought my 92 Hijet from a guy in NE a few years ago... I wish he would have titled and licensed it when he had it, because the only way for me to obtain a title on one of these here in Illinois is if it was titled for road use in another state previously... It makes no sense to me, but that is what the DMV/Secretary of State keeps telling me. I have all of the original export papers from Japan, and had them all translated and notarized, but that isn't good enough. The guy I bought it from said he went to title it, and the DMV and the Sheriff told him to just save his money since it was only being used by him for farm use.

That kinda blows for sure. When I went to the courthouse it took about 10 minutes..... thank God! I sold a 2008 gmc sierra then got my mini. Really done regret it cause if I have to go anywhere over 50-60 miles we take the wife's suv.

I have zero intentions of replacing my FJ Cruiser with my Hijet as a daily driver, but it would be nice to be able to LEGALLY drive it to the gas station for gas, beer, and cigarettes... If I ever have to travel for my job to a state that allows them on the roads, and I'm there long enough to require "long term" housing, I may just take up residency in that state long enough to title it...

I'm glad I did! Don't really go to far as I'm retired 30 yrs.out of steel mill with some pretty crappy health issues. Also 38 mpg beats the heck outa 15!
