Hi, bought this truck 2 years ago...

Replaced an ignition coil on it 2 winters ago, and recently a fuel filter, cap/rotor/plugs/wires.

It's rolled over the odometer, and I believe it's the first time it has rolled... so it should have about 110k KM on it.

The problem is, it's starting to consume oil, and blows blue smoke quite visibly till it's warmed up, then it just very lightly blows the blue smoke.

From what I understand this could be valve stem seals(smoke at statup), or oil control rings (smoke after warm)...

The PCV valve seems like it is just a breather tube on my truck, but that shouldn't cause smoke so heavily on startup?

I've been thinking about doing an Electric Forklift motor conversion in the truck, it never really does more than 150km in a day (My wife uses it for her gardening business, it's light enough to drive on lawns and small enough to get into most peoples backyards)

Anyone have any experience with the EV conversion? Seems like being such a light truck it should work really well, and even gain more top end speed Haha.

Anyone else have other ideas? Maybe I'm overlooking something? Don't really want to have to buy a "new" (used obviously) motor from Japan.

Also, next year in my area there will be a new insurance company to handle all RHD vehicles in the province... so if the insurance jumps up in price, I'll have to get rid of the truck... but here is to hoping RHD insurance isn't ridiculous when they start up.

PCV system: What happens if you remove with running engine the oil filler cap and put a piece of paper over the open hole? Does it suck air or blow air?
I do not exactly know how the system is on the Acty, but I know it from my 1988 BMW V12 engine, the 2 PVCs were not working properly and I had similar symptoms as described by you and also high oil consumption. Replaced the PCVs and all was working fine again. These I replced then http://bmwe32.masscom.net/sean750/vcv_replacement/VCVvalves.htm
Here is a vacuum diagram drawing but for the older versions http://minitrucktalk.com/threads/honda-acty-vacuum-diagram-1995.14400/

The idea with a conversion into EV drive by using electric forklift drive parts is quite interesting. Never heard of such conversion but one must be the first to try.

I'll check what the crank pressure is doing with the cap open...

My other option a friend has pretty much talked me into is a CBR600F4i motor... 110hp and 63nm torque, the Acty has 42hp and 53nm torque (Crank ratings, not wheel ratings) apparently, should be a lot better on the highway being able to rev up to 14k instead of 7500 rpm Haha.

I'm only considering the bike engine because we think it might fit under the truck... and because the Acty motor spins CCW, it's perfect for rigging up a jackshaft style system running off the CBR motors output shaft to the existing transmission in the Acty to retain the AWD and reverse.

Plus with the bike engine, can use the existing radiators, and retain the heating system for those not so warm days, and during the hot days, having 2 radiators that are both larger than the bike radiator, it shouldn't ever overheat.

Oil Filler, and Dip stick, neither are sucking or blowing any significant pressure, can barely notice it on my hand.

PCV Valve checks out fine, hoses going from the head to the valve, and from the valve to the carb boot and intake manifold are both relatively clean :(
