I just bought a 99 Hijet, and it's on the way from japan. I'd like to compile a list of cross reference # specifically for my truck, and i figured i'd do it on here so everybody else can see it as well. I don't have the truck yet, so none of these numbers are confirmed, only from my research. I'll put a * beside the part when I've confirmed that it fits. I'll try use NAPA parts as much as possible, because they are in US and Canada.

    I've Moved this resource to:

Welcome aboard mneuls! Great way to start a thread. I'll get some numbers together for you out of my file. You will find that some parts are different for the EF-SE (single cam) and the EF-VE (twin cam) engines.

Off the top of my head and for my single cam, I can add that a Federated LF410F or a Hastings LF410 oil filter works great. No fuel filter, only a sock in the tank. Most here add an in-line filter (a metal one for the EFI pressure). Key blank is a Toyota, not sure of the number. I have an OEM timing belt and tensioner that I've yet to install, I'll get those to you. I have some new NGK plugs ready to go in as well, I'll get those up. Tires are 145R12.

Are you here in the states or in Canada? I'm interested to hear more about your truck and your purchasing experience.

Thanks for the info, I've updated that info into my first post, any more info you get will be very helpful. I'm in Canada, so the oil filter brands aren't familiar to me, but I can get NKG plugs, so that number would be helpful. The truck is still on it's way to me, so i'll let you know how it goes once I get it here. I've got my fingers crossed that it's not going to be a money pit.

I also have a hijet waiting tokyo to roro to halifax its only a 96 so no efi unfortunately but its a dump model. It seems that the info on these mini trucks is spread all over with nothing truely coherent in one place that i have found. but a reference of parts that fit that can be purchased locally would be great for any generation of these trucks as a sticky in the forum.

I was kind of expecting it from a forum, but I could only find random references scattered about, so I started this thread. Hopefully it gets to the point where I can find almost every part I might need in north america.

I've owned my 2001 jumbo for one week and can already see that parts and info are gonna be a real issue. U joint needs replacing and there has to be one at the auto parts store that will work. Also can't figure out what type of refrigerant is used in AC and where the elect. Power steer relay/fuse is located. A cross reference guide would be great but I don't think there are enough people participating here

I have the '99 hijet deck van, same single cam motor. Have you done any work to your motor? Unfortunately I think I'm looking at doing some rings on it. I was just wanting to know how hard it might be, and if you had any tips.
Also, is there any belt I can buy from a parts store for the timing belt?
I could not view the new form mnuels created, for whatever reason, could you be so kind and send me some of the info you have about it?
Also, which plugs are you using, just to make sure those are correct.
    Thank you
