Can anyone tell me how risky it is to run non DOT approved tires on a registered street legal truck? Im in a pretty serious pinch here, I ordered a 4" lift kit under the assumption that I could install 12" wheel with the 23" Carlisle All Trails on my truck, turns out that the All Trail is not DOT approved and I was sure it was. In any event now I either need to find a wheel tire combo that will fit or just go with the wheel tire combo I was planning to use and hope I don't get in much trouble for it. I do live on an island and things are fairly lax around these parts and I know when it comes time to inspect it I would have to put the old tires back on there. Anwyway any info is greatly appreciated!!
There is some model of DOT approuved tires, i have on my carry a set of DOT street force. I am fully legal on the road. Do a google serch on. DOT atv tires, you will find a lot of options. View attachment 13894
