I need new front strutts on my 92 Sambar. One is leaking alot of oil already, and do not really want to pay 500.00!! Does anyone know if strutts from a north american vehicle fit? I have tried to search in the forum to no avail! Any help would be appreciated!!

i dont know about struts but i know some basic components are 100% interchangable with the old subaru justy cars that were sold in canada and the states in the 80's and early 90's. Online dealers wanted 100 dollars plus shipping for a set of brake pads and i got subaru justy ones from napa for 40 bucks that were a perfect match... im very curious myself what other parts from the justy will work on our sambars (at a fraction of the price)...

Buckwheat363 what year Justy did you find parts from? I went to 2 parts stores and they do not have any listings for Justy. Did some research and the Justy came out with an ECVT transmission same as my Sambar! Will have to see if the local subaru dealer knows how to work on these as I am having some issues with mine.

Did a service job and changed over to winter tires today, and finally got the part numbers off of the strutts and found that my rear shocks are leaking as well. Now I need strutts and shocks.

Part number for front strutts are 20301-TA111 Tokico Japan O J 12
Part number for rear shocks are 20301-TA000 Tokico Japan

Have tried to search on-line but just get web sites in languages I cannot read. I would appreciate any help.

Since you can't find the parts locally, why not go directly to the source. Land of the rising sun............ JAPAN ;););). Talk to Don at Yokokamamotors.com. He'll hook you up.
My part came in 5 days, directly to my door. :p Shipping on shocks/struts might be pricy, but it's worth a shot.
