    Thanks Steve.

Not to get into a one brand is better thing but I like this WAAAYYY better than my carry. Maybe it's the couple hundred extra pounds that makes it drive better, Maybe it's sliding the seat a couple inches further back, Who knows??? I do know that it's a whole bunch easier getting the dash apart, No more dropping the steering column down to get the bezel off.

Wheels will arrive this weekend & get dropped at the machine shop next week. Hopefully within 2 weeks I'll have the RX-7 wheels on.

Had a death wobble at about 80km (50mph). Checked the front end, rotated the tires and it was still there. Then picked all the small gravel out of the treads (winter tires), and the vibration was gone. Go figure.

Dopped my RX-7 wheels off at the machine shop to get the centers bored out.

As I stated in another thread I was doing body work and getting my 96 Deck van ready for paint. Well Friday and saturday were paint day's. It was really cool to do all the body work and most of the paint. I didn't spray the clear but did the primer, sealer and base coat. I'm not done this project yet as I still need striping, decals and spray in box liner. Sorry for the iPhone pics but camera battery was dead. More pics to follow... Thanks for the compliments. I got a quote on an armaguard spray in for $225.00. Kind of a no-brainer considering a kit at Canadian Tire is $140.00. Wreck your Deck van looks like its in great condition.

I put my wheels on, fixed my auto folding mirrors and replaced the cugarette lighter with a usb port.

I adjusted the mirrors how I liked them then gently removed and filled the bottom around the ball socket with black silicone caulking from home depot.

Replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing.Got everything but the pilot bearing from G&R.My friend,a mobile mech. helped me with it and when he took the flywheel to NAPA to have it cleaned up they came up with an alternator bearing that was perfect fit for the pilot bearing.I'm sure that if I had taken it in they would have never tried to match the bearing but my buddy spends a lot of money with them so they got it done.Yeah I went to town and bought a lottery ticket when we finished the job.

I'm not sure how many customers it brings in the door but it sure gives us a presence in the community.

I was reading on another forum about garage door openers on the visor and potential security issues for vehicles that are left outside. I'm not really paranoid, I just like to tinker. I had a couple momentary push buttons that were going to get installed on my bike for the garage door openers. I went a different route on that so I decided to bury my openers in the dash.

I only snapped the finished product. I'll try to snap a shot of the bike ones when I do those.

    Items needed
    opener
    single strand phone/doorbell wire
    momentary N/O switch
    soldering iron

Your truck looks great ! You should find that dirt & mud will just hose off bedliner, I use a soft brissel brush on worse spots. I blacked out frame before I bedlined mine. I also sprayed oil undercoating on truck after I finished paint work so that metal is protected inside and out. Doug

I took the map tourch to the bumper and shined it back up, looks much better in person, and taking the pics with the blaring sun on it didnt help... but you can sorta see the difference in the pics, first one is the start, second one i did half of it, and third was the finished product. Think i will give it a buffing and mabe torch it a second time to even it all out, i highly recomend doing it, turns the plastic from grey to black again.

I removed the spare tire and the bed sides to reduce the deadload while commuting. I've seen an average decrease in fuel consumption by 3mpg which brings me to an average of 45mpg highway and city combined. That's on 155/80/13 snow tires as well. Truck feels zippier without the extra weight.

    highly recommend it.
