Hi everyone, I've never been close to a U42 or later. How do you shift into 4WD? Is it a lever/cable between the seats? Do you have 4wd-hi,4wd-low and 2wd-hi like me? The reason I ask is I'd like to convert my U15 4x4 to a modern (maybe turbo or supercharged) engine but I don't want to lose my manual gearbox with the manual transfer case. I've got to collect some part numbers that will fit the U15. I am NOT afraid to cut and paste some stuff. Suppliers always ask me the serial number but mine is Taiwanese and the numbers mean nothing to anyone. Can someone help me find a supplier that will sell me: 3g83 EFI (I really don't care which one) Wire harness CPU Intake manifold Exhaust manifold Throttle body Distributer Did I forget anything? Please don't say ebay.
I don't know why it's so hard for someone to just poke in with a, "Yep mine has a 4-lo, 4-hi and 2-hi on a lever/cable between the seats like yours." The suspense is killing me. What's wrong with my engine? 1 - I don't like it. It's a 3G82 that nobody wants to know anything about and is too rare for my taste. 2 - It's dead. I spent $1500 collecting parts like oversized bearings, rings and pistons had it completely rebuilt only for it to go pop in 3 months... due to lean condition or ignition problems (the CSI episode hasn't aired yet). 3 - I want more power (Turbo EFI would be nice) I'm overseas at the moment. When I get home in September I'll rip my engine apart and see what happened. It sure would be nice to have a longblock with all the fixins' sitting on the floor. This is the first time I've ever had a fist full of cash and nobody that wants to sell me anything. Welcome to Kei's.
