I just got a 2000 Mitsubishi (no lift & factory tires with 4x100 pattern). I live on a ranch & most of the use would be around my house & would like to get a tire that is good for driving in pastures & for muddy/snow conditions when in 4 wheel drive. Would like to get a little bigger tire to get the truck to sit a little higher without doing a lift. After doing a little research on the forum, it looks like a 4 wheeler tire may be the best. Any input or recommendations on tires?

I'm new, but have been doing some tire research, myself. I'm leaning heavily towards the ITP Mudlite series tires.

Just gota watch with atv tires some of them are very soft and don't last on the front with the weight.

Any atv tire will need atleast a 2" lift installed, not because of diameter so much as width. The wider tires require quite a bit more turning room inside the wheel well. I recommend for your particular application Carlisle 6x12 Tru Power Tires, they are still skinny and will fit your stock wheels, they are mildly larger in diameter and usually only require some very mild trimming if anything. Also going this route will be far less expensive due to not needing new wheels as well.

I am thinking I would like to get some tires that are a little bit bigger. I know I will have to consider different rims & spacers but was wondering what is the biggest tire I can put on without doing a lift?

Sure wish I would have known about those tires when I purchased my atv tires and wheels that are 23x8x12. My 95 mits struggles for speed with them so I took them off and they sit in my garage on the shelf now and can't hardly give them away on Craigslist. Regally like the looks of those Carlisle!! Thanks for the info.

When you're talking 4 wheeler tires, you could be talking many things. Perhaps you're an enthusiastic quad rider or perhaps you've got a mighty mud machine. Some people are talking about their street rig that occasionally has to get through some rough terrain, whether it be for work or play.

Well, after doing a little research, not quite sure I want a bigger tire! Don't really want to deal with spacers or lifting. Currently have 12" factory on it now & am considering going no bigger than 13" & would like a little help to figure out what can be done. This all is new to me & honestly I am a little confused & frustrated trying to figure out what combination would work best for what I am looking for, so any information is appreciated.

The mini currently has a 12x3.50B rim with a 4x100 bolt pattern. Tire is a Bridgestone 145R12. The tires are approximately 5" wide & 20" in diameter. I have NO idea what the offset is.

Here are the options that I am considering & I "think" would work without spacers or lifting the mini:
    1. Purchasing a set of older Datsun B210 rims which are 13" & can be mounted as is since it is a 4x100 bolt pattern. Not sure what the offset is, but others have used these rims & I haven't heard of any problems. I have decided that a Mud & Snow tire would work best for what I will use the truck for & am looking at the FireStone Winterforce 175/70R 13. Specs say the tire would work on 4.5"-6" wide rims & have a diameter of 22.8"

    2. Purchasing a set of new 13x5.5 rims (4x100 bolt pattern). The specs on these rims say they have a 22mm offset & I would get that Firestone Winterforce tire as above.

Anyody out there that have a similar setup or know if one of the combinations would work?
