I have been offered a free Hi Jet but the engine is gone

Hello all! I'm new here. A family member has offered me a Hi Jet but the engine is out and disassembled. Something was wrong and it was taken in to be worked on and the garage went out of business before it was fixed. It is free. I just have to make the 700 mile round trip to get it. Should I try to find a good engine to put back in it and if so, what is the going rate for an OEM engine? Supposedly all the parts are there to the old engine but I've never worked on one of these and I hate the idea of trying to put back together something someone else took apart. I'd like to retrofit a small diesel engine back in it. It is a 4x4. Unsure if it is a dump truck.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Walk away. Or better yet, run.

Unless you absolutely need a toy to play with, save your money and buy one with 20K miles right off the boat. It's just a headache no one deserves.

I know a mechanic in Mississippi with a couple of used Hijet engines laying around, or they were last year. Let me know if you need info.
