    Hi all

My beloved little van died on me a few weeks ago and I've been really struggling trying to find a new engine for her. My mechanic thinks I should just scrap it but I couldn't possibly! I know you're all along way across the water but anyone got any ideas or suggestions on finding an engine and does it have to come from another 96 Subaru sambar?

    Many thanks

    Hi

Thank you. Yes it does still have the sticker on panels :)

I hadn't thought of importing engine, wouldn't have a clue how much that would cost or how to go about it?
I did contact a few uk japanese importer companies but they only deal with cars/vans and not oarts.
May just start doing a bit of further research.

    Thanks again

    Hi

The cambelt broke, mechanic has put a new cambelt on and the engine is not turning fully (the starter motor has also gone too)

Think my mechanic thinks I'm mad to get it back on the road and says I probably need a new engine too (though someone else has suggested that the samba engine is a pretty good safe engine and that maybe even a tiny bit of grit or something in the bore could be stopping the engine from turning now?)

Problem is, I paid quite a bit of money to get it to mechanic on tow truck .... I don't know where to go now? Push my mechanic to give engine a proper look over? or take it to someone who is keen to get it back on the road for me? or maybe mechanic is right and I should give up on it? :(

I am pretty sure we can get one to you. We have several good used and reman EN07 motors in stock here in the US. I am not sure what would be cheaper sending you one from here or having one shipped from Japan to you. Give us a call or email if you still looking

You must visit the Big garages in the your city and i hope will get the desired engine parts you want at cheap price rate easily. Scrap stores also helps you ,.
