I put off installing a tachometer on my Suzuki Carry because I couldn't find one for the right price. Well, I just wanted to let everyone know that GlowShift is selling them for $14.99 shipped on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/280714863079?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I purchased one last Friday and it was delivered on Monday. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy a tach. The listing says the sale ends in 6 days. Looks like the regular price is $24.99.
I don't know how similar our Carries are, mine is a 90 660cc, but for mine the (-) side of the coil was a brown wire with a yellow stripe. I also have a glow shift tach.
wow excellent price....anyone who needs a tach should jump on this deal,as very few will work with 3 cylinders
Thanks for the heads-up I ordered one (actually 2, one for another project). Please post more specific hook-up info. Thanks again. BTW its going in a 1998 Mazda Scrum.
Thank you for that info. Dumb question, but are there two wires coming out of coil and is the (-) side the one that doesn't have any voltage? Yeah, I couldn't pass up on this deal because it was cheaper than a used tach. Glad you took advantage of the deal. The tach is still sitting inside the shipping box inside my garage. I'm going to take a look at it today and hopefully I can get it installed sooner than later. I will document the process with as many photos as I can when I do it.
http://www.glowshift.com/instructions/Tinted-Series/GS-T10-Tachometer-Gauge.pdf Heres the directions if anyone was interested. I havn't messed with these yet but I'm not sure on the green wire which is to be connected to your vehicles tach signal. Didn't know if my 95 even has that. I figured a guy would have to get a tach that you just connect to a plug wire??
Couldn't tell ya, I pulled the plug under the coil and guessed because other threads about the tach install said Carries had green on the negative and the brown with yellow stripe was closer to green than black with a white stripe.
http://www.minitrucktalk.com/showth...ERT-30-00-direct&highlight=sale+alert&post=#3 I'll try one last time, GO HERE ^^^^^^^^^^^^for the install info, if you need it. Yes brown wire, picture of coil, multiple install recommends and installation instructions. About 50 guys have already done this, search is your friend. You guys are mess'in with me, right? The sale, is a good deal, but you will not like the "tinted" style. You can't read it during the day very well. It's too dark. I have the boost gauge in the "tinted" style, and it's fine at night, hard to read during the day. Pay the extra 15 bucks for any of the non-tinted. Just my opinion.
Why would someone go to the thread you linked to if they are trying to find a link to install a tach. Not that the thread doesn't have the info, but it is titled very similarly to this thread and looking to install one you already own why look at someone's thread telling you how cheap they found one. I'm just sayin'. Saying search is your friend is probably the most common reply on this and another forum I am part of, it isn't helpful. I understand babysitting every thread and finding the info for the person is tedium in and of itself, maybe you could just type something to the effect of "Search "tach, install"" or what ever you typed to pull up that thread, which you contributed to so you are probably subscribed to and could link to it easier than typing "search is your friend".
That was my fault: Is the link. I won't do that again. To your first question. When I say search, I don't mean "look around" I mean use the search engine on the site. If you search for "tach intall" or "coil" or what ever, the engine will pull up the threads that contain those strings. Regardless if the title reads "How to Change a Baby's Diaper"...the string was found in there, and is in there. You're kinda making your own title. I just hate to see guys struggling to find answers, when they are a second away. That's all.
Agreed and I was just saying that using the search engine is only as good as the info in the titles and usually folks searching are in a frantic mind set because they want to know what they are looking for at that instant so the only thing they are looking for is exactly what they searched. This is my biggest problem when I search for info. Also I will say your response to my antagonistic (not that I was purposely trying to start a fight) post shows you are a nice guy and not a hot head. Finally sorry to the OP for hi-jacking the thread.
I came across this report today - http://www.fastmr.com/prod/328656_smart_grid_market_and_technology_outlook_industry.aspx I'm not familiar the publisher, but it looks pretty focused. Anybody here know the company?
