What is up with the poor English? I am no scholar, but some of these posts are terribly written and make it very hard to follow or understand the questions.
I am going to do this install as soon as the tach holder comes, but I am worried about the shortness of the wire on my tach. How bad will it be to splice a longer length of wire in order to run from right hand driver's side to the coil under the passenger seat? Will it effect the readings? (Does it really matter how accurate it is?)

I think it's pretty clear that some of our members do not speak english as their first language. As for your question regarding wire length... go ahead and splice a longer piece on.. it won't affect anything.

On my 90 Carry the (-) wire was brown with a yellow stripe. There wasn't a green one to be found so I guessed and chose the brown and yellow over the black with a white stripe. Fired up the truck and BAM! it was working.
