Being new oners of a Subaru sambar my wife and i had our first "only in a right hand drive vehicle" moment last night. It was dark out and my wife and I were driving down a major road here and she was busy full on head down texting when a truck accelerates to our speed and starts honking When we looked over We were expecting to see a thums up or something but instead we were greeted with a "no no" waging finger lol! With our recent distracted driving laws I guess they got a little carried away and didn't notice the lack of steering wheel on her side of the truck as well as the grocery bags she had piled on her lap! We had agood laugh about it as they pulled up to us on my side of the truck at the next light. Yup the wheel is on this side boys! Lol. What's your right hand drive story?
We were at the ranch over Thanksgiving and went back and forth from one house to the other a couple of times hauling kids, ice chest and what kitchen sink. Three different times my wife opened my side(driver) and say "dang it" when going closing the gates. Honestly 7 yrs. of messing with these trucks once in a blue I'll go to the wrong side when I am by myself. Of course I dont tell her that.
Getting into the passenger side at the gas station and looking like a complete tool....and wiping the windows when I'm changing lanes...it gets less the more you drive ,but then you just do the same crap in reverse when you get into a lhd car...if I drive the Daihatsu for a few days then get into my car I nearly kill myself at the first stop when I jam the brake with my left foot searching for the clutch
Bahahaha I've done an air clutch in my lhd car already! And I'm always turning on the windshield wipers on the subaru when I go to change lanes, and I've even hit the signal light in the wrong direction! Lol instincts
Wish I were there to see you hop into the passenger's side, lol I've walked up to my truck and unlocked the door before, realizing I was on the wrong side, but never hopped in. (never say never)
Well its happening, I'm starting to turn the wipers on in my Lhd car now when I want to change lanes! I really have to stop and think now lol.
When I first got my truck people would do a double take when they would see my daughter in the left seat going down the road. She played it up and would hold her arms out like she was holding a steering wheel.
