Well this sucks. Had to have my truck brought home on the back of a flat bed. The reason: the gas pedal cable is stuck. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this problem before on these trucks?

I found the plastic coating had cracked and let water in the cable. I had to replace the cable. I just went to a bike shop and had one made, cheep and no more problems.

It happened to me a month ago! Bought some silicone spray and lubed up the throttle cable at the pedal and carb! This for me was another great way to get to know the truck.

Sometimes when it is snowy and freezing out I track snow into the cab and it piles up at the point where the accelerator pedal works. Freezing and thawing eventually it causes the pedal to stick. I get used to lifting the pedal with my foot.

My cable used to freeze up so I took the cable out this summer and lubed it up well, and then ran it alongside the heater pipe. I still get a little trouble with the pedal linkage from time to time but the cable is not prone to becoming frozen now. In any case, when the cab heats up all is well.

Thanks everyone for the info. The truck seems to be all better now:) Must have been moisture in the line.

if it happens again.. and if it gets really cold it will. Reach under the cab just in front of the drivers side wheel about 8" in. you will feel the throttle cable there. grab and just move it around you will feel the cable unstick. do that a few times and the cable normally frees up well enough to drive.
