well the day finaly came and i am now a subaru sambar owner! went and got her inspected and other than a small oil leak she passed with flying colors. then it was off to do a little paper work and to figure out that, forgetting that the handbeak is on + stalling in front of the guy who just sold you the truck = :frustration: . that was an equasion i was better off not knowing the answer to! then it was time for the one hour hilly drive home. she handled the drive really well and we managed to average aroung 100kph! except going up those pesky hills. we made it home and my wife and i proceded with our weekend earands. the truck drives like a dream in town but im still getting used to the staring, pointing and the looks on peoples faces as you drive by in a lime green right hand drive kei truck. walking towards my truck in a canadain tire parking lot i over heard a teen telling her friend" that truck is sick" hah i had to laugh out loud at that one so after a shower and a top up of gas she is resting in her new home, my garage. im so happy to be an offical sambar owner and tooling around in my new truck is just as fun as i'd imagined! oh by the way ive decided to call her KeiLime
Congrats on the truck. As far as the looks they will continue. Its kind of funny how many people look at these trucks as a novelty, not understanding how practical they are. Where in Alberta are you?
I'm in red deer, I am really enjoying the truck so far the only thing to figure out is where to put groceries it's been snowing the last couple of days so putting them straight in the box isnt going to work. I was thinking of getting a aluminum truck tool box that locks but for the time being its a Rubbermaid container that I transfer into to truck while I'm inside a store. I joked with my wife that the truck isn't only saving us gas money it's also saving us money by limiting the amount of groceries we are buying. Hah if it won't fit in the container we can't get it
Heh, I did the same thing only I got carried away and put the truck in EL instead of 1st then when it was barely moving and the engine was roaring I couldn't find 2nd (shouldn't it be below 1st? lol) and stalled it. My first time driving a stick was when I picked it up from the dealer and drove from Calgary to Edmonton.
Lockable Rubbermaid type Garden/Pool storage box clamped in the back. About $40 when on sale at WalMart or Cdn Tire. Mine even has wheels, when unclamped it rolls out the back.
