I am in Laurel, MS. I have a 1991 Suzuki Carry 660. When I crank the truck, it idles great and as long as you push the fuel petal all the way to the floor, it runs fairly good. But when you let off the petal, it starts to stall out. Seems like if you pump it, it will level out for a little while. Not sure what the problem is, just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem, and what you did to fix it. Thanks in advance for your help.
I think the first place I would start is the fuel filter. How fresh is your fuel? Been sitting a long time?
Check ignition From what you said, it could be ignition timing or not running on all cylinders. File the points, clean the cap, clean the spark plugs and check the timing. Run a can of Seafoam in the tank to clean out the carb and check the choke plate is operating properly. Lastly check for a vacuum leak. Always start at the easy places first (fuel), then work to the hard places (vac). You will find the problem. Robert
I have ran the Seafoam in the tanks and I even tuck the fuel line off and stuck it in the can and did it like that.I will check the points and plugs and see what they look like thanks for the reply
if you test the pump it will work, its giving you hints that it will die soon maybe in a month or so, i had the same problem. its an early warning sign..
