I need help with my 1996 suzuki carry w scissor dump. Unit ran perfect untill I started to transfer diesel to my equipment and was running the transfer pump off the mini truck. It probably wasnt a good idea but was very handy. :frustrationI think it may have damaged the alternator and the battery. It would run if I charged the battery but would die off after driving very little. I also think that it might need to be tuned up because it was loosing power bad. Does anyone know where I start to get parts for these or similar issues??
    Thanks for any help!

sounds like the alternator is fried...or you have a bad ground from the battery to the engine....either test at the battery with a multimeter or have a garage test it for you..

Running the transfer pump off the battery?

If so, probably blew the main fuse, and/or the regulator fuse as well.

please, let us know more info about your pump, but i guess Don's guess is correct - check the fuses first

would it still run with the main fuse blown ???...

We get lots of vehicles in the shop where they attempt to jump start the vehicle with the power leads reversed. Besides a spark of showers, they get a blown fuse or two. Usually still runs until the battery drains. Charge and regulator fuses tend to blow together, and only deal with the output of the alternator IIRC..

I should clarify, main charge fuse which should be 60A or so in most Kei vehicles.

Everything should work, except for the charging system.. which sounds like the thread starter's issues.. vehicle dying after the battery charge goes below the threshold to keep everything running.

This might be heading me towards solution of a problem I am having on my 95 DB51T. There is an inline 30A fuse near the battery, 18 guage wire I think.

When I lift the dump bed or cycle the plow, the voltage goes high 15-16 volts. Truck keeps running, voltage stays high, then I find the 30A inline fuse is blown.

I thought it must be a voltage regulator in the alternator. So replaced the alternator and the problem persists.

Is the inline fuse for the charging circuit? What size fuse and guage wire should it have?
