i have a 1990 sambar truck with carb that just stopped starting.

it seems to be flooding when i go to turn it over.

checked plugs, getting spark with all of them

carb is full of fuel after i turn over

un hooked air filter cover, so getting air.

any suggestions as to what i should be looking for?

when i took out the plugs they were filled with gas (dripping)

    thank you

ps found a related link in suzuki trucks about cleaning inlets and outlets but i have not found a good image of carb to know where these are.

sounds like a stuck float, worn float stopper,or the choke is stuck shut...more than likely one of the first 2............that being said ,if for some reason the plugs wires or timing /distributer have been replaced improperly, the constant cranking will flood the plugs as well.is your spark nice and white/blue or dull yellow...if not white/blue you may need a coil..if the plug wires and timing etc. are all in correctly then you can try starting with starting fluid..if it starts you know you have a carb issue....you can try running straight seafoam into the fuel lines and then shutting it down and let the seafoam try to work its magic on the carb nasties overnight...tap on the float bowl lightly with a screwdriver handle as well,to try to unstick the float(trax uses this method and it seems to work well for him)then start and run it for an hour or so......if none of this helps you prob. need to rebuild the carb

cool thank you i will have a look at that, i hope it's not the carb being toasted.

after i posted i went out, dried the plugs and tried it again... it started but ran like crap... sounded like a old putt putt engine.

if i gave it any gas it would stall out. i took some video of it. i will upload it to my youtube account and link to it if that would help.

so when i went back to the carb in the truck i didn't know what it was that you were referencing... and since i have yet to find a good image labeled as to what i'm looking at i took a picture and put some numbers on it.

could anyone tell me what these parts are in this photo of my carb, and what they do?

What is between #3 & #4 in the picture on the carb? Bowl vent nipple?
