Building a custom box

    We are building this box for a client of ours. It was just started a few days ago.
    Right now we are grinding all edges and some exposed welds and priming it.

    Sheet metal side panels are going on tomorrow and a top mount hinged door later this week. Will post more pics as the progress continues.

    Looks like the only thing it lacks is corner bracing or at least gusseting the corners. Are you SURE you're building it strong enough? :rolleyes: With a little more effort, I think it could serve as rollover protection. :D

    Its taking shape a little more. It is plenty strong, thats for sure. Its been taken up the road at driving speeds and the rig is very secure. We will be doing another one on a clients Townace after this one is finished up.

    This one turned out to be a good box on a budget which is exactly what the client asked for.

    Still need to smooth the edges, silicone, primer and paint. Also a back up camera might be in order.

    Nice stuff
    I was considering a similar thing - only I wanted it tall enough to stand up in -
    Any idea on how much extra weight ??

    What was the final cost? How many man hours?

    I woulda used a foam strip along the bottom between the box and the deck..
