Im looking at buying a car in B.C and flying a friend out to drive it back. Has anyone here made the trek and can give some insight of how long the drive is etc. We figure its about 40hrs of driving? This would be through Canada only not going through the US.

Unless there is someone out there who wants to bring the car to me for a price?

Going through Canada I make it about 4800km or about 48 hours of drive time. Going through the US I make it about 4500km or about 45 hours of drive time. Either way it's a long ass drive! You might think about shipping the car across Canada by rail ....

Depends how much your time is worth and what type of vehicle?

I've done Toronto to Palm springs California in 36 hrs nonstop with 2 drivers...Vancouver is way further...it's over 20 hours just to get out of Ontario into Manitoba from Toronto

I find anything over 1000kms a day kind of sucks.

Yeesh, given that I don't like to do much more than 80km on long stretches on the highway in a Kei, that 1000km would be almost a 13 hour day!

best way to figure out the km's for the trip is use www.maps.google.com I suggest highway 1. dual lane most of the way and 110km average speed limit in the prairies.

pretty much....but i knew it was iffy to start. VW rabbit with old rare widebody so i needed to see closer pics of how it was installed. Closer look and the body filler around the arches was cracked and pulling away from the body. Oh well no loss
