Congrats. Hopefully the site will grow to be THE resource for information for our little trucks.

It already is, as far as I'm concerned. I just direct people here because there are so many active vendors with links to their sites who frequent this place.

We just picked up 3 overnight! I know I sent the link a day or two ago to a relatively close-by dealer and I guess she checked it out and thought it was cool.

Kevin - have you thought of producing some "minitrucktalk.com" decals? I have a feeling people want to know more about these trucks when they see them driving around - putting a web address on the rear window would definitely increase this page's hits.

That is an excellent idea! I should look into doing this, is this something that you do, if so how much do you charge?

Thanks for opening this forum. I bought a 95 Dihatsu a year ago and have taken it on some challanging terain in the Colorado mountains. With a passenger, the suspension bottoms out on rough terrain. Can I put stiffer strut on to prevent this problem ( what kind of strut ).

    Thanks

Glad to see you on the forum.

In short, yes, you can. Since other Daihatsu owner's may not check the posts here in the forum's "news and support" section and may be interested in this same information, I have responded within the Daihatsu-specfic thread area here:

    See you there.

No, it's not something I do. I'm just a guy who hangs out on car forums a lot and I notice many other forum administrators and car club operators sell small window decals to members (usually for $10-20/pair.)

A few months ago I had a small decal made for the rear window in my Merkur (It said "Professional driver. Closed course." :D) I don't recall the vendor I used, but I found them via a Google search for "vinyl text decal" or something like that. It ended up costing me about $20, if I recall correctly, for a 12" wide decal in two colors (grey with a black drop shadow) - and that's for a one-off piece. I imagine you could probably work out a little bit better pricing with a vinyl cutter if you stick with a single color and purchase decals by the dozen (or several dozen, optimistically.) Mark them up a little bit to cover your hassle and postage, and sell them to the masses. Like I said, I'd be glad to advertise this forum on my truck - it's a great resource and, if nothing else, a fairly complete directory of truck and accessory suppliers. I think all the vendors on this site would stand to gain a little business with this kind of exposure. :)

I did a quicky web search yesterday on this and found a whole bunch of vendors..... for something smallish, rear window size (say, 2" x 8") figure on about US$0.50 each in a batch of 250. I also have a vendor at work that might be a source. I started on some ideas yesterday too. Just for fun.

I would definitely gobble up at least one of those rear window type stickers. I would suggest making it in an oval or something rounded with "minitrucktalk.com". The right color scheme would be very cool! wow....... I want one already.

UPDATE: I bought PhotoPost - Photo Galleries for vBulletin. I've been testing it for a few days now, and everything seems to be working good. If you find any errors please let me know.

On the menu bar there should be a link "Photo Galleries", everyone should be able to create their own albums and upload unlimited pictures. (Make sure they are appropriate or they will just be deleted and/or you maybe banned.) I've not added any other categories yet, do you think we should have "Trucks" then separate each truck out or....

Give me your suggestions and let start uploading some pictures!

  13. Guys, I have posted on here several times that I have a vinyl plotter and I can make decals at the touch of a button. I don't do this as my full time job, it's just a hobby and for my own mini trucks I sell. I can print any text you would like and I can also print custom images that are sent to me in eps. format. Let's get the ball rolling. I will do a min of 100 if that will work for you guys. Let me know and we can get cutting some decals.

Well, you want to try a few of that logo that I posted a little bit ago? I think it may still be too rough (wish I had photoshop still...it would be MUCH easier).

By the way, last night we went over 200 members! :D

  15. I need images in eps format. Like I said this is a hobby for me so I'm not sure how to put images into that format. I just know that eps it the way that I am able to cut them out. If nothing else you could go to a local sign shop and have them cut you one or so and then ask them to email you the art work and we could use that. Just throwing out ideas.

I'll see what I can do. I work with a bunch of artsy-designer types, I'm sure we can come up with something.

    Window decals

We have decals made up for our Church. They are about 5x6 and they cost about $2. That should be about the going price if you have a good quantity (100 or better). Hope this helps.
