Can any one give #'s on walmart and autozone filters that will fit my 93 mini 3g83?
How many cold crank amps do I need? I assume I can use a tractor or atv battery onn this pup, right?

KN filter does work, just tight

KN # 33-2740 fits tightly in my '93s airbox. Slight wrinkle at one side but no air leakage. Also, it's been being used and checked for over 21 months....
    My best solution anyway.

Fram PH 7317---That's an oil filter...not an air filter! This filter DOES NOT FIT my 1993 Mits: there is a bracket in the way. I did find a bit longer one than the ones I had been using (CarQuest 85365 and 85358) and it is a common stock filter @ the parts house: CarQuest # 85356. It's listed for a lot of different import cars, so should be easy to obtain.

i got the 7317 air filter number from this site i have never needed to look it up to see what it was. i use a ph6607 or a wix 51365 oil filter. the last one i just bought is a 6607, easier to get and i change the oil every spring before i start driving it, which is about 2000K's. i use castrol full synthetic 5w-30. :D

I was using the Wix 51365. I had CarQuest look up the size/type for me. It happens to be an "industrial use" filter for generators and Chinese (Yanmar) Diesels. Not a bad thing. I had them look and see if there was a 'longer' filter with this base, and came up with (Wix made) CarQuest 85356. It happens to be made for Hondas and Mitsubishi cars/trucks.

I think yes you can use the atv battery on that pup. I am also thinking what will be the autozone filter that is applicable in my '96. :D

I have a 660cc minicab and just changed to 10w30. From all my research, 10w30 or 5w30 is the way to go. Don't use synthetic.

    oil for subaru

    I dare say, it's a question for the Subaru list. I would stick w/10-30 0r 5-30, myself.

In older vehicles, synthetic has the ability to dislodge deposits in the seals, thus causing it to smoke. Just had a guy change the oil in my 1991 mits last week when he was doing some other work. Turns out, he refilled with a synthetic blend. Immediately afterwards, she started smoking, a problem I never had before. Changed out the oil myself, and it had gone black in a matter of 2 days. Either I have bigger problems that I am not aware of or the oil had some affect. Based on what I have read, think it was the oil change.
