Introducing Mid South Sokon, become a dealer today!

Discussion in 'Introductions' started by Mid_South_Sokon, Jan 21, 2010.

  1. Bob, why would I ever want to give you anything you want when all you have done is bash me and bad mouth me? This is not real business, this is a message board. I have conducted real business with people here on the phone and via private email. This medium is meant to get the word out on new products and for people once met, communicate over the phone and via private email.

I have communicated to a lot of people privately, but I feel no obligation to provide you with anything unless you pass our dealer requirements and pass a credit app.

Furthermore, having to prove to you, whoever you maybe, that I am who I say I am is something not to be posted on a message board, it stinks of desparation.

No offense, but put yourself in my shoes.

I come into your shop in Michigan or wherever you are, and lets say you and your buddy, Mr. Ovarious are there, doing whatever you guys do, and lets say I ask you and your cronies, who you are doing business? Who you are dealing what? And I demand all your paperwork, but for a week before I berate you and call you a liar.

What would you say to me?

I know what you would say to me.

I can tell by your history of posts, at best your a bully who feels that dont take "S" off anybody and you would rather be a hard arse about things, than to be civil and polite.

So I dont feel why I need to prove anything to you on this medium, until you prove to me first, and your serious. Because lets face it, you dont know anyone who wants to buy anything I have, you dont even care, you just want to find any one inconsistency I put down to further your movement.

So in your best interest, change your name, contact me by phone and pass our requirements, because, newsflash, we have requirements too. So at this dance, there are a lot of girls, and I dont need to prove myself like I am some neanderthal in a quest for fire.

This board is great, I have made lots of connections, but you calling me out, then asking me to prove myself, isnt how things work in my world. WHen you figure that out, then maybe you can invest millions into something you believe in.

  2. This made me laugh a little simple because I was able to work out a program that's got 7 different trucks certified for import and I can't name a single document myself LOL:D

That looks like a great truck your supplying! Hope that the product is all you are talking it up as!
If this product is to be brought up into Canada, would it have a cold weather package?(block heater/battery blanket?) Is there a frost plug in your block that would accept a block heater ?
Best of luck with this endeavor!:)

  5. Tiny, if you pm me, with a list of your wants, then I will get with my people and see exactly what I can or cant do for you.

But if I know now it can help a lot.

    Thanks for your questions!

We are definitely looking into cold weather packages, we would be stupid not too...

This year alone the east coast in the USA is getting hit wiht almost 6 feet of total snow in 10 days!!

  6. Ashley: I have never called you a liar. You are confused.

I would call you evasive. That would be the word that I would use.

First, it is your company that is trying to sell to me. I am not trying to sell to you.

Second, I just asked simple questions and I just expected simple clear answers. Instead, you evade my questions and taint my post history by calling me a bully and declaring that “every message board has one” among other insulting comments.

I did not ask you about your customers as that is none of my business. I just asked for more information about your company. It would seem you would be quite willing to help me substantiate your company’s existence because it would build your credibility and help bridge the quality gap from your last failed Chinese venture. It would seem that if a person asked for information that is in the public domain you would willingly comply. It would seem you would be asking yourself “How can I help this person,” instead of “Why should I help this person.” It seems you have it backwards. You cannot always rationalize helping or not helping someone based on what you see in front of you.

Bottom line, if I am going to cut a check for $108,000 for nine trucks I want to see the steps your company has taken to insure the product is in compliance with all applicable US laws. Your lack of substantive responses is disappointing.

    Simple question. Simple answers.

PS Confidential to Fremont: the EPA doesn't issue any certificates before the bonding requirement is met and the only form you would be familiar with is the certificates. The other forms are not required for you.

I think all the people who have a legitimate business interest in MSS have used this new technological device they have out now called the telephone.

The rest are just chain jerkers and trolls.

    Jeff-

  8. Having anyone write me a check is the last thing you do in business. There is generally lots of contracts and paperwork to do beforehand, in which all documentation will be shown and verified.

One of our chief executives is a lawyer.

This is how you called me a liar, you are asking me to prove to you something that I said I have. So by asking me to prove it to you, you are saying what I am telling you is false.

I am going to stop responding to you Bob, you dont deserve anything to be proven to you. You are another dealer here, thats all. You are not the government or the Better Business Bureau. You have made it clear since day 1 that you dont want anything to do with me, so I am not going to give you anything you want because of your prior attitude. Sorry, its plain and simple.

Just because I dont give what you want, when I know you dont want to do business, does not make me evasive or a liar. I would just rather not give you what you want, because I refuse to bow to your tactics.

  9. Oh! Now I see. Us chain jerking trolls are much slower than the real people. Please forgive my imposition.

    Best,

  10. Thanks for the info, hopefully I never have to care about any of that, all I have to do is provide the vehicles.

The only imposition is that constant passive-aggressive bs you keep spewing. If you have a legitamate comment, make it. Stop acting like you're somebodys friend and best bud while steadily throwing out sly comments questioning what they're doing. Takes the real point you're trying to make and turns you into a douche.

The real tragedy is, you know as much about these different kind of trucks, the laws, the retail, the parts, as anyone on here. But you hafta act like you alone invented the sale of minis. Everybody else is a crook but you and its your job to trick them into submission. Jeezus man, if you want to contribute, just do that, and leave all that baggage somewheres else.

  14. Jeesus man I will try to take your advice. Like you said before I am just a chain jerkin troll so you get what you get. I only wish I was half as smart as you. Or maybe one third as diplomatic.

Jeesus man, I just don't understand your hostility. I mean, can't we all just get along. Jeesus a christ larde almighty! King of heaven and earth! Can't we just get along!

:pop: Boys, boys, boys. Enough of the male hormones please. Since Bob is an established dealer and Mid South your trying to become a dealer, don't you think that you both are hurting yourselves a little with all this sparing around? I am a person who would love to own a mini,as are a lot of other folks, and have looked at several and at several dealers for many reasons, but this back and forth you to are doing is begining to give me a headache. At first it was funny, not so now.
Bob, your well established and I am one who appreciates all you have done to get where you are. You are an inspiration to the industry, but if this keeps up......well, it could hurt. And Mid South, if you want any following at all, produce the products, get them out into the open, let folks see what the trucks you have will and will not do, and go from there. If the China made trucks are up to the Japanese standards, it will sell itself. As a suggestion, get a couple of trucks, you and Bob and others, meet at a netural site, put regular guys and gals in the vehicles for a weekend, and let the customer decide. Who knows, you both as well as others could come out winners. It is a common fact the big three here in the good old USA are NOT putting out anything in this market. This industry could and should explode if done properly. I know around here the few mini's that are around are well liked, run all over our mountains, have no troubles, go anywhere in all kinds of weather, and are more than dependable. Basically, I am asking you two guys to be leaders, not fighters. We have enough moaning and groaning around as it is. Show us, the customers, that you (two)are above all this, please. :)

    Thanks, Danny
p.s. I would love to try out both new trucks here on the plateau in Tennessee on these logging and mountain roads. I guarantee you with in a week, you two would know with out any doubts which will hold up and which would not.

  16. DannyM: Thank you for your kind words. Sometimes I forget that I am not just communicating with one person, but possibly several hundred. I am sorry if my responses were not as nice as they could have been.

I probably shouldn’t have spelled Sokon phonetically like So Con. I didn’t mean to be really mean, just a bit mischievous. I probably shouldn’t have asked for any documentation from Mid South, because it is not my responsibility to check them out. If someone says they have all of the required paperwork it is not up to me to second guess them. If someone says their new truck will not be the same as the trucks from the past and they will make parts available in the future it is not up to me to cast doubt on their statements. Time will tell.

Further, I resolve from this day forward to work toward becoming a leader in the minitruck industry, to not participate in discussions that will not reflect positively on myself or the industry and one day hope to become worthy of your admiration.

Bob, your welcome, and you do have my respect. So do many of the others who sell and maintain these trucks. When it comes down to it, those who sell, maintain, and stand behind the products they sell, are the true leaders in any industry. Something that will make this industry grow and keep growing. I just hope no one was offended at my statements. I too come across a little harsh at times, even when I don't mean too. Now that we are moving on..... Thanks to all of you that have worked hard to bring something to us that we can enjoy and use in our daily lives, and that is also fun and exciting. My wife would love to see how many women are involved and have their own trucks, Keep up the good work guys and gals.

Folks, I can understand why there is all this heated debate over the potential of Chinese manufactured trucks entering our market (once again). It would be ridiculous to think that this industry would not be skeptical of such trucks considering their flagrant and notorious track record of failure after failure. The Chinese trucks have all shared two things in common...great concept and ideas / horrible execution in manufacturing. People like Bob have excellent intentions on calling-out shady companies that have tried to take advantage of people in this industry over and over again. However, I think its a little premature in regards to Sokon.

Ashley has been responsive to questioning and has sought answers when he could not answer himself. I am as skeptical as the next customer or potential dealer in a situation like this. I'm waiting for an opportunity to demo a unit in real world conditions before passing judgement. This new company has been forthcoming with information (in a private, business setting). MS Sokon has assured me that they will provide us a demo to test and evaluate in our conditions to see if the trucks are up to our standards prior to making any monetary investment in un-proven technology with such a dark past. The design is excellent with crew cab configuration (with the increased interior space) and upcoming cargo vans and regular cabs. The 4WD units are promised to have Hi-Lo range (which was also a huge downfall in many of the past units that shipped to the US in 2WD configurations and the dealer had to install the 4WD components :sly:).

I plan to share our findings if they follow through on their promise and believe in their product as much as they state. We will be their biggest advocate, or their worst denouncer based upon our findings.

Bottom-line, give the company a chance before condemning them based upon the history of other products which leads to alot of unnecessary bickering.

    Dan

  19. Agreed, if they're will to get a demo to me I'm not against testing it out to see if it's something I want to add.

What will the pricing be for your new trucks?

108,000 divided by 9 equals $12,000 each. Dealer cost so we would have to pay more.

i would bet that retail has got to be $14-15k, compared to japanese ATVs, how about the chinese ones that come from the flea market???

that is still running 20 years later... compare that to an '03+ kei, what are they bringing, $10k?? still WAY cheaper for a proven platform w/ 20+ years of reputation behind it...
safety??? what do they have that a japanese truck doesnt??? and you hope they are around for warranty... where do you buy parts if its not under warranty... from ONE supplier... the kei parts market is inflated, but there is still competition, if one supplier sucks, you move to the next one... and there is 20+ years of parts availability...

  24. Thanks Dan, for the kind words, I did leave you a voicemail a while back, please get back with me. And yes, everyone, I have a phone and it does ring, and as long as your not Bob, I will answer it....just teasing.

Danny, I am not a dealer, I am a distributor, people like Bob would be my customer. I dont sell to individuals. So I really dont have to prove anything as a dealer, as people like Dan and other dealers, will tell me everything I need to know if my truck is not up to specs when they get a hold of it.

We have had several other dealers, test them out and are pleased that we are single sourced, well funded, and aren't a fly by night company.

MSRP is 14,500 for 4x4 and a little cheaper for 2wd gas. We do have a 2wd electric as well.

Our trucks are made in the same factory as Honda, Nissan and Kia.

We're sourcing from DFM, a subsidiary of Chongqing Yuan Group and we have sole rights to this model for USA and Canada. Not to mention minivans, motorcycles, scooters etc.
We produce more than 100,000 engines each year, and have an annual production capacity of 300,000 motorcycles and 100,000 minivans. You can check it out here.

It’s an off-road vehicle but it’s street legal, depending upon state and local regulations.

AND NO, FOR THE LAST TIME, I KNOW ABOUT DFMUSA AND NO WE ARE NOT WITH THEM AND NOR DO THEY HAVE WHAT WE DO.

I have been asked if we are them, and as far as I know ,I dont know what they are selling, but its not what we have. I told someone 6 months ago to go try to buy from them and they couldnt, so I'm still wondering about them. But I am not worried about them or their reputation because its not what we have to sell.

We will have more lines of autos, including minibusses, minvans, cycles, scooters, etc.

For now, we are selling the 4x4, 2X4 others will follow later once our initial introduction is made.

Draggbody do not worry they are covered by a 12 month motor warranty? Or is it bumper to bumper? My guess just driveline coverage. Prob 8000 miles or something.

    Truck is really cool
no parts five years later is really crual.
    Don't be a fool
    they know the golden rule
import on to them before the truck breaks down

What is warranty period? Product good/long warranty. Product bad/shorter warranty or long warranty to get customer to buy. Hondai equals 100,000 miles. Product is okay but people buy on account of warranty. MSS says many time how well they are funded an so on. Put money where mouth is an sell with long warranty.

Wow is right I've seen new Suzukis on some of the sponsors sites for about the same price, and they are already proven to be reliable. IMO I think that to be competitive you will need to sell your trucks for cheaper at least while your trucks are new to the market. But thats just my two cents. They do look nice but I think they are a little bit to big for the side by side trails around here. I would like to see one in person though, so if you have any dealers near zip 26003 let me know. Good luck with your new company.
P.S. A 10 thousand mile unlimited year warranty would help alot.

Hey that's where I found out about you guys. I was reading my issue of Dealernews April 2010. Always been interested in the mini trucks but always hated having to buy used product with no warranty or parts support (US parts warehouse)

I am also interested in your product, shoot me out a dealer packet for review.
