I'm getting ready to change my oil for the first time as well. I have the factory filter. Any hints as to where I look for the oil drain valve? I haven't yet removed the underbody covering that hides the filter, but I'm guessing it should be close to that area.

Just finished changing the oil in my Hijet. The oil drain valve is easy to find. It is a bolt that you unscrew at the bottom of the oil pan. Strangely enough, it was on so tightly that I had to use my impact wrench to remove it! Also be sure you have a pipe wrench for taking the oil filter off seeing they have to be installed fairly tight on these trucks to avoid leaking.
Glad its over with anyways. Even with the truck on jackstands, its still hard to get up under them seeing they are so low to the ground!

  8. 3.1 liters , 3.28 quarts for a S83. Should be about the same for a 81 unsure.

I change mine every 5000 kms. I had 5w50 synthetic but went back to 10w30 had a guy tell me the synthetic was too light a oil when warmed up even tho it is a 50 multigrade, not too sure on that.

Kinda off topic at work today the propane remained a liquid in the lines of our flare stack, could not get the pilot lit until we steamed the propane tank. So it had to be -35C or colder.

  9. Actually 5w30 right now, could go 0w30 but I couldn't find it.
