This morning I was T-Boned by a guy in a full size dodge pickup who ran a stop sign. He hit my driver's side behind the cab doing about 30 MPH and I was doing about 5 mph. I ricocheted about 50 feet and spun around backwards in the oncomming lane. The dodge had massive front-end damage, grill, hood, both fenders, and bumper. My Suzy had the hinges on that side of the bed bent and some metal bent under the bed. The impact made my leg break the cup holder off flush with the dash. It knocked my dog box out of the back (just dropped the dog off at vet) and pried opened my toolbox.

Damage to my truck looks minimal, but the rear wheel/tire took some of the impact. Now my truck vibrates when I get up to about 25 mph. Not like a wheel out of balance, but like something is bent. Can't find anything bent can anyone offer guesses as to what happened.

he could have knocked your frame out of alignment... also your rim might have got bent a bit. try throwing on the spare and see if it goes away.

lucky he got you behind the cab! your a lucky man!

That stinks about your truck. Hope your ok. You may have bent a rim or an axle. I have some parts trucks here in Texas if you need anything.

    Thanks

Hope you are doing well:( Sorry to hear someone wanted to play bumper cars with you
You more than likely bent some internals taking a hit on the rim. Could be as simple as a bent rim to warped drum/ bent axle.
It only has to be out a fraction of an inch to make a severely noticeable shimmy:(
    I hope its the rim.

Probably bent the axle or something else inside. The wheel is mag and would just break, I think. I jacked up the rear and ran it in 1st gear while looking a the wheels. No wobble or out-of-round that I can see. I am not brave (i.e. stupid) enough to run it at high speed while jacked up. I will try to post pics of my truck later. Don't have any pics of his truck, which would have really been impressive.

Another thought I had was that it might be the bed vibrating. I noticed it knocked it loose from the frame right above the wheel. Looks like it broke the weld on one of the brackets welded to the bottom of the bed.

This thing is probably going to be for sale, once I fix it. I quit running with scissors in my hand a long time ago, no need to start again.

i like the light on the first hijet in the picture there. looks factory!

hmm if it is the bed try lifting up on the different corners and see if you can hear a squeek or if you can feel some play from it separating.

A Friend of mine was driving it

and he is 6' 2" it was hard for him to get in the truck before the accident they had to use the jaws of life to get him out. and no he didn't walk away, his right shin bone broke through the skin in two spots and the big toe was broke back into his foot which was the worst of it. Pretty much all the impact was in the worst spot possible. i think if he would of hit it square on the truck would of held up pretty good for what the truck has to work with. He will be back on his feet in 3 months. He loved that truck just as much as I do and spent many hours on it with me.
