I'm totally new here. Just picked up a 1992 Suzuki Carry mini. I'd like to add a front brush guard and a winch. A search here turned up a lot of old threads with deal links to other sites.

Any info about what you guys have done to your own trucks is appreciated. :D

eta: and where you bought the goods would be a BIG help. :)

I should beef up my profile huh? :) I'm in Arkansas.

I've browsed some of the supporter's sites. They're full of lots of replacement parts, but not so many accessories like brush guards, etc. I'm more curious what some of the other owners are running, what they paid, where they bought, and how satisfied they are with the product. I don't want buyer's regret after shipping a heavy brush guard from California.

eta: in all sponsor links THIS appears to be the only pre-manufactured brush guard offered. There are no specs listed.

ya, I know what you mean. I'm no expert here either- relatively new at this stuff, but I have kept my eyes open; online and in day to day operations.

There isn't much out there for aftermarket brush guards. There are some made by folks who I think are sponsors on this site (can't find the link now) but I think the vast majority of folks build their own or make friends with someone who can. That's my approach right now. the problem is, it's a "I'll finish it when we get some more time" kind of thing for me... and it's taking too long!

ahwell, I'll like it when it's done... I hope...

good luck- i'd ask around on the site and at the websites of the sponsors. In my experience they've all been quite friendly and pleasant to deal with.

Ha, that's why I chose the username "NoExpert." I have read so many archived threads here it's not even funny. I think I may see if the local off road shop can fab something up for me.

I'd like a brush guard that I can even mount a winch to. Perhaps fabbing one is the way to go after all. Thanks again for your input. :D

  6. Fabbing one is probably your best bet. In my somewhat limited experience, the type of mount needed is different from truck to truck, and even year to year, so making a "universal" brushguard is not easy. And by fabbing one, you get exactly what you want, not what someone else thinks you want. :)

Good luck and show us some pictures of what you come up with!

We build brush guards, hitches (front and rear), etc. So there are sources out here. Check my link below to Acidgear and on that page is a link to our product dealer. Here is your truck with one of our guards...
