Looking for opinions of experience between 93 Suzuki carburated Carry and a 2000 SC Subaru. Read 50HP on the Subie and think the Suzuki is 35hp. We have a 93 Suzuki 5 speed 3 cyl. It does ok on the road and will pull and haul alot around the ranch as well. Looking at a 2000 SC Subaru. Is there a large difference between the two driving on the road? How fast (mph) will they go without over reving the engine? I know this is subjective......Thoughts on the differences?

I should add that the Subie is not close enough to test drive yet so that was why I am seeking input.

Do Subies have posi/locker like the Suzukis?

I would say night and day difference.

I have only bought and sold Subaru's,both carb and EFI supercharged.2wd and 4wd in each.
There is no comparison to naturally aspirated.

BUY it now if you can:cool:

Did you take to Subi for a test drive....Should be a huge difference...The 93 is probably more challenging to shift and if your older like me you would like the newer model that drives like a regular car and the maintenance is so much less with the efi. I have a 01 Suzuki and love it. I didn't like the older 90's Suz. since I felt like a retard trying to find the gears, plus it had Atv tires that made it bounce all over on dirt roads if you tried to get any speed out of it. The regular street tires work great on dirt roads, pavement, snow, sand, hills etc.. I'm not sure about mud yet but in 4wd they should be o.k.. We have a ranch with all different terrain. The newer models might have a/c which is a plus and I think the heat works better..Mine goes thru all the vents and the older ones only use a portion of them depending on what you are using. A/c or heat. You will pay more for the newer models but its worth it in the end for quality, maintenace performance, etc.. Oh by the way, we took ours on the highway and got it up to 110k/68mph and it ran great. A little scary but I'm sure we could have gone faster. These little guys like to go about 80km and purr like a kitten..Just my 2 cents worth...Good luck.....
