We had a pumper truck pop a hose clamp on site today and my truck received a concrete shower:frustration: Any tips on how to remove the concrete wile leaving the paint on the truck?? Have already taken to truck wash but the cement has cured hard
I haven't tried any of these methods/products but you may want to give them a try. OH, oh, oh!!! i know this one!!! I'm a former concrete pumper, don't use acids they are far too tough on surfaces. There are products out there that are safer and more gentle, althou they will take a bit more time and elbow grease. Ro-Mix Backset is one of them, as is Speedy Clean by Shell Oil (but Ex$pen$ive). Zep Mudslide works well too, I'm told. all these products take time to work their magic. Keep the truck out of the sun, and in a cooler area, spray it on, let it soak, keep it wet with the product, check it occasionally to see if it's soft enough to remove some. it there is still some left, re-apply and let sit again. I'd go so far as to cover the wet-down area with a plastic garbage bag to prevent it from evaporating too fast. or even soaking a paper towel and sticking it to the spatter, along with the plastis and leave it over night. Vinegar......And warm soapy water after you let the vinegar set in. Then lots of warm soapy water and light wiping with very soft towel, mit, or rag of some sort, making sure not to smear but just wiping/removing the splatter itself....
I haven't tried to remove concrete, but when I'm refinishing old furniture, I use wood shavings and saw dust. Just use whatever remover you want and add to wood shavings/dust, the wood acts like a fine grit and sponge. Put on some gloves and rub. Hope this helps. Tony
Maybe carb cleaner, but try anything on a place that doesn't show first, for the sake of your paint, good luck.
Thanks for all the tips and tricks guys!Vinegar might have worked if I got to it right away.... let soak overnight, now my truck smells like a pickle but the concrete is still there The 50/50 vin/water works pretty good for getting rid of smog/nic stains from inside the truck though! Going out offroading tomorrow, last time I did an excellent job removing all the marker lights.... maybe the same will happen to the concrete! If I meet up with a tree AGAIN the concretes coming off with a flapper disk
