I have 92 Hijet 2wd with a 6.8 gear ratio in the rear end. I have a manual from another Hijet pu model from 91 that states it has a 5.27 ratio on the rear end. Does anyone know where I could possible get either a) a replacement ring and pinion with this 5.27:1 ratio or a replacement rear end that has that 5.27:1 gear ratio in it?
I have converted mine to electric and I need the faster gearing to get highway speeds.
    Thanks.

I would start with the site sponsors above ^^^^^
As long as it was in regular production in 2wd models and not a obscure part then chances are that somebody could source it out of Japan.

BTW Where do you call home, just curious with "get to highway speeds".

Well just adding my two cents to this thread, contacted the good guys at G&R Imports and they are gonna confirm that the 4-speed trucks have smaller differential gear set's in the rear compared to the 5-speed models just to see. that way if they do then I will purchase the gear set out of a 4-speed to put into my 5-speed. Yes I am aware that I will loose torque, but living in Houston means I need as much top end as I can get :D
