$5500 for all terrain - what is the best deal on tracks?

Hey, if it's not my money, why wouldn't a guy? I could have used them this year for grooming the X-Country trails around the place! :D

I'd love to have a set, but they're expensive... and bulky.... so I voted accordingly. :)

someone said there was a cheaper rubber version - Wondering if this is true and will that type work in mud - we would only be using this sucker once a month tops

I am a Mattracks dealer. They are the most expensive tracks, but I believe them to be the best all terrain tracks. I can sell you a set of XT URs with adaptors for a Kei truck for alot less than $5500. We have done several trucks with tracks with great sucess! Not a single problem witht the tracks so far!

Hear of anyone using them in the snow? We are thinking of a mini with tracks to groom our snowmobile trails.

I have a deal going right now- $5000 delivered to your door. (plus fees to Canada)

And we run them in snow all the time!

I am not a fan of tracks for me because these trucks are road-legal here and tracks don't make much sense here in Oklahoma on-road. They do better in off-road applications or snow/sand.
I would recommend some ATV wheels/tires for guys who want to off-road their truck. You'll have plenty of traction for most cases.
On-road I recommend stock wheels/tires that these trucks were made for.

I think everyone would agree that tracks dont make much sense for on-road use!

But for ULTIMATE traction in deep snow, mud, sand and swamp, tracks are the way to go!

How much could one pull in the snow? Maybe 400-500 pound drag?

I wonder if tracks are hard on the power steering seeing that it would probably have to work harder to turn the tracks rather than the 12" stock wheels.

The trucks we have put tracks on just don't seem to be made for it like you would think. They need low range and the throttle is pegged most all the time and for all intent and purposes tracks are overrated for these vehicles. Now if the trucks had 100 HP or more it would be alot different for tracks then. If you don't mind going slow and using alot of fuel go for it but I will stick to tires.

    tracks and axle/differential lock

Does a minitruck need to have axle lock or differential lock to be able to put tracks on it?

No it is not a requirement.

    Yes- Mattracks

    It is true that-
    tracks are slower
    dont turn as easily
    wont get good gas mileage
are not good for the street

But there are situations that require tracks. You cant drive a mini through/over 3' deep snow with tires. You can with tracks. You cant drive through a 3' deep muddy swamp with tires. You can with tracks. Tracks are for specific situations.

I am not trying to defend tracks per se, but they definitely have a place on certain trucks in certain situations. You cannot argue that!

We LOVE them in the sand or snow!!! So far - I have used them purely for recreation purposes. I am not sure how much weight you could drag behind a mini with tracks. I would be mostly concerned with how well the clutch would hold up. I think that would be your weak link. I would do it!:D

BTW Tt- Your SC'd Sub would kick a$$ with tracks given the fact that you have 3 times more HP than the rest of us!!!:D

Yah, Don't I know it. Just waiting for the #'s on the lotto ticket to match up :D

Do the trucks need lifts on them for the Mattracks ?

You may get away with no lift with a little trimming, but we do a 2" spacer lift in the front only.

Sorry about all the questions, but new at these trucks. I had talked about one with tracks for grooming our snowmobile trails. I had read that some tought they are under powered for the tracks, but we tow our drag(somewhere around 250-300 lbs) to groom the trail at speeds between 5-12 mph now. I would say that we will be grooming with the truck in the same speed range. I also know that that another concern would be the clutch.Anybody know how big a clutch it is? Yesterday recieved an email from someone who sells them in Mass.,he said that he does not have any in stock and that the EPA has suspended importing of these trucks. Does anyone know if this is true? Most of these truck seem to use 660cc motors, are they all made by the individual manufacturers or do they all use the same engine. Why I ask is that in some of our snowmobiles we use a 660cc Suzuki engine with a turbocharger and intercooler on them.Um,if I needed more power!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone in Mass. was pretty close to correct. Without a costly inspection/certification, these trucks can't be imported into the US. This has stopped most US dealers in their tracks for now.

The 660cc engines are a result of the regulations to this class of vehicle in Japan.

Stuff99: I would go by miniMOG's reply, I don't know anyone else that has more experience with tracks than him.

    Tracks are Awesome

    Hi All,
We have been tracking trucks for a couple years and have had great success. Our track system gives close to 3000 square inches of ground contact so the traction and flotation is amazing. Steering is no problem-2 inch lift necessary on most trucks-only 95 lbs per track-all season. Check out our videos of tracked kei trucks @
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsOOztVikFQ
Our systems retail for 5300 CAN$. In the videos a coule of the trucks have Mattracks on them as we were comparing both systems.
