    Hey guys,

My Daihatsu is now finished! :D
Picked it up today. Gotta say I love this truck.
Has camo interior, Sony cd player/explod speakers, tinted windows, camo liner exterior, american battery, and new tires. :)

And thanks again Greg0187 for the help with the toolbox setup. Your idea worked great! I'll take photos sometime of the wing nuts so others can see how to make a secure, yet removable box.

Man! That thing turned out great. You should go ahead and swap the latches on your toolbox so the key hole is on the drivers side before it really starts to annoy you. ;)

Sweet looking ride. What size of tires do you have on this?

Those are stock size M/Snow tires. 145/80/12. Great traction with them.

    Wow!!!

Great Truck:cool:. Your upgrades look well thought out. I'm interested in how you fastened your tool box for quick removal too:confused:.
    Congrats Jim

Thanks for the support guys. I'm glad to be back in a mini-truck again. :)

Yep, with the tool box, the idea was to be able to have it in there securely, yet be able to remove it easily.
This was done by using four 2 x 1/2" bolts and having them tightened in the bed on the low grooves (creating studs). Once those are in place, you drill the needed holes in the tool box floor so the bolts end up sticking through the bottom of the tool box while the box sits flush with the raised grooves/floor of the truck bed.
Then all you need to fasten your box to the truck is washers and wing nuts.

So all you have to do to remove the box is undo the four wing nuts in the box and lift the toolbox out.

This plan was created by Greg on here. (thanks again Greg)
The dealer tweaked it a little, so mine is not exactly like the above, but I haven't removed my box yet to see exactly how the plan was changed for mine. But however it was done, it worked out great.

So you get a solid toolbox, yet quick/easy removal.

    Great Job!

That thing looks like it could climb a tree! Beyond awesome. My wife and I bought one over the weekend and I, too, would like to get a better radio/speakers. Again, totally awesome!

? Sorry o8k, I can see them, so not sure why you can't. I posted these photos a long time ago though, but they should still be visible. Just scroll all the way up to the top of this thread (the photos are in the original/first post).

Real nice job! Love the interior. The cupholders on that truck are great! I wish my truck had a pair like that. Good idea for fastening the toolbox Greg. That looks like a real nice set up!
