Gas Pedal Question?

I was wondering maybe some Canadian Carry owners might be able to answer this questions. My gas pedal seems to stick to the floor and not come back up so easy, I'm wondering if its the cold here, because its been -17 the past few days. Is the carb freezing up, or is there a sping on the pedal I can replace to make it pull back up when I release the pedal.

The truck starts fine, runs fine, takes a bit to get warmed up but when I press down on the pedal and shift it sticks, and revs like mad, and I have to pull it up with my toes. I think its the cold and its supposed to warm up this weekend, so I will find out..

    k - thanks

    Hello from the igloo
That sounds like the cable is freezing up. There are some posts about frozen clutch cables and how to fix them. Try the search functoin and see what pops up:rolleyes:

Everyone is spot on... it IS your cable that is frozen. Notorious with Suzukis getting condensation in the jacket. I had a truck present with the same problem...fortunately I had a heated garage to pull it into to thaw at it was fine.

Well I pulled the cable out it was -15 out and oiled the hell out of it and it slid alot better but I'm not totally convinced its the cable. Though after the truck warmed up it was working ok. Today it was something like 5 degrees and works perfectly...

I was amazed how easy the vehicle is to work on.... I have fun got my fingers dirty lol..

If it freezes up again, the throttle cable is real easy to remove from carb. If you think the return spring is weak ,remove throttle cable from carb when pedal is stuck to floor and see if the spring snaps shut.
Glad to hear your running now!
    Happy trails
