I have a 92 jumbo 4x4 that I want to lift, I did a search but cant find the answer I was looking for. I saw a reg cab that has 26-10-12 front and 26-12-12 rear swamp lites that look great. I was thinking of going with 25-8-12 fronts with 25-10-12 rears swamp lites question is how much lift would I need to clear these tires and will I have any clearance problems, would 10" fronts have a lot of clearance problems.

have searched for anything on lifts?...i have read a lot on lifts that other people have done and a lot of them some times have problems with there CV's. so check the other threads on lifts, and you should get the info you need.

I just installed 23x8.50x10's on my 1993 Jumbo.

I have a 3" lift for it but have not put it on. I read up on the CVC joints going out with a 2" lift so I have not installed the lift yet.

    lift

I have a '92 model with at 2.5" lift (stronger springs only, no spacer) and I have stock wheels (4"x12", backspacing appears to be 4") and I have 25x8x12.

    The tires hit the strut.

I have spacers on order but that may not solve the problem. If not, I will have to replace my new tires for some 23x8x12 and be done with it. I do not plan on cutting the fender/door to make room.

    Hope this helps.

I also have a 92 4x4. 2 1/2 inch lift kit. Tried 25x8x12 on front with 1" spacers. Tire rub makes it necessary to cut fender and door. 25x10x12 on rear with 1 1/2" spacers with no problems. Going to 23's to get rid of rub. Decided not to cut. 25's going on 4 wheeler. Needed spacers with rhino take off wheels.

I was told to beware going any more then 2 1/2 lift as well. Running lift for a few months with stock tires. No issues so far. Just needed bigger tires.

    Hope this helps

I just put on 4 Carlisle ACT 23x7x12 tires on stock wheels. There is no problem with anything hitting or rubbing or cv joints being out of line. The tires are great off-road, and they love the mud. Short of deep ruts, it will go anywhere in 2wd.

A lift is useful for using larger tires but it also helps the truck clear the ground when going up or down hills or over irregular surfaces. My Hijet came to me with a three inch lift and cut fenders which still did not prevent the big 25 inch Rawhide Grip tires from hitting the body very hard. I am now using Nanco 23 inch Super Lug tires on my Hijet and they do not hit or rub. I probably do not need the lift any longer for tires, but the higher position of the body is helpful for the off-road driving I do.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Hi Jet with the 6 ply 489 tires on the stock rims. I know these tires do not have a real high load rating but I haul loads like the one you see on the truck through the woods with no problems. These tires have pretty thick casings which is why I bought them so they would be more puncture resistant. the sidewalls are a lot thicker than the stock tires so I am not going to worry about the load rating. I am running 15 psi in them. I just use the truck off road except getting to the woods on a county road. I have a set of Crossroads springs on the rear and my own 2" lift on the front. I love this truck and the heated cab is just great this time of year! So much more vehicle than an UTV.
