I have been looking to buy a mini truck , Suzuki or Daihatsu , well i found one in Phoenix , the guy wants $ 5000. for it , seemed fair , he says it has an RV plate on it and he passes cops on the freeway at 75 MPH , has no problem , then he told me he drives it everywhere with a slow moving vehicle triangle on it , i told him i was really interested in buying it but wanted a good Arizona title so i could get plates and drive it on the streets in AZ. He told me he was working on getting a South Dakota first and then getting an Arizona title , he said he wanted me to pay him the $ 5000. and he would give me a bill of sale and some Jap to english paperwork ,i told him i would only buy it witha good legal Arizona title , i also asked him about emission testing since i was in Phoenix . he said it would pass no problem , i agreed to buy with an AZ title only and he started yelling at me . calling me names and that i was stupid for wanting the good AZ title first before paying him for it , Please , someone tell me how the title , plates and enission testing works with the mini trucks , thanks in advance Steve
I don't think it's gonna happen. If you look through older posts in this forum you will find a lot of discussion on this topic and in most of the country it just won't go.It seems like Canada is a different deal and you can run them legally.I'm in So.Cal. and know for a fact it'll never work here.Just look back through the older posts and decide for yourself. Good luck Jim
Any seller that starts yelling at me is going to have to find a new buyer. If he has had it for more than a few months and doesn't have plates on it, then there is a reason for that. Unless there are plans in the works for your state to make them road legal, I wouldn't purchase one for that purpose. It could take months, years, or never, to happen. If you are buying for offroad or farm use, you shouldn't have a problem finding a more polite salesperson.
first of all, i didn't yell at him until he hung up on me, and then i called him back to tell him he was rude. he hung up on me when i told him i didn't want to sell it since he was so insisitant on it having a title. all of the questions i answered were answered thoroughly, but he continued to ask the same thing over and over again. most of you know the perils i have dealt with in getting my truck registered... after SD rescinded my registration it has been parked and awaiting the return of the paperwork from SD state officials. it has all the standard paperwork with it, import cert, english translation and a bill of sale. in arizona that is enough to get RV plates now, and a proper title. soooo, there is nothign fishy going on, and everythign is on the up and up...
