    It's a line from a movie.

Jack Nicholson smarting off to Marlon Brando about his pistol after Brando fired a round near Nicholson's foot exploding a cabbage in the small garden he was tending. "That's a mighty fine lookin cabbage shootin pistola you're totin there mister"

I think the movie was"The Missouri Breaks".

My budddies and I usually refer to all of our pistols that way. Just a joke.

Nice pictures, Milt. Those XDs are nice - a friend of mine used to have an XD40. Big gun to carry, but it shot pretty nice.

Personally, I like the more organic-looking curves of a revolver for carry... but it's a tradeoff, since I've only got 5 (or 10) rounds. ;)

Nice to see a 1911 with a little holster wear, too. So many of them seem to be safe queens.

Weird... everyone I know who traps gophers has told me to use these Death Klutch traps. I've had pretty decent luck with them. I think placement is key: I carry around a trowel and a piece of stainless rod. When I see a mound, I scrap the top off it to see where the hole is - that gives me a pretty good idea of the direction the tunnel goes. So I poke the rod into the ground where I suspect the tunnel is, and feel around until I feel a subterraneous air pocket. Dig it up a few feet from the mount, put one Death Klutch pointing each direction, stake them in place with the stainless rod, and cover the hole with a piece of cardboard. You've really gotta wind them up tight, then position the plate so it's just about to slip off the tapered end of the keeper. Hair trigger gets 'em every time. :)

I've got about a dozen Death Klutch and a few Victor Easy-Set traps (pictured below.) Haven't caught anything yet with the Victor traps. They're a lot harder to stake down, too... you pretty much have to tie a string to the trigger plate. :sly:

Mini 14 Factory Folder and Cetme with HK Retractable Stock

The Mini 14 with factory folding stock is one of the favorites in my collection. Although I am not a big fan of the CETME, the HK collapsing stock makes this one somewhat interesting. The receiver is stainless but finished in black. I was so fond of shooting that I bought my own range. That is, I bought some land where I can shoot any time I want. But I became so focussed on the land, that I have lost much of my gun fixation. And to get around my land, I bought a 1993 Hijet. Hence my participation in this forum. One thing leads to another.

I am jealous of the guns you folks can obtain,I hate it when the bad guys have more carry power than tax paying citizens.
As far as gophers go,I have never seen a trap,I can literally spend hours everyday shootin em!so there eh!

when i got my XD there weren't many around and i really needed to replace my old .380 with something a little more modern and dependable. i wanted the standard
XD9 but nobody had them so i took a chance on the sub compact. the nice thing is that it's got the small mag which is 10 rounds, or a full size mag that gives you a full size grip and holds 16 (although that's not legal in all states). i was surprised that with the little 3" barrel on that thing i could still get a good group centermass at 15meters doing a rapid fire. i thought it would be all over the place.

    Gopher Guard

Smith and Wesson 2206 with scope and TAC 65 suppressor. This morning I rigged up a shoulder holster for it using a large pistol case and a strap. I will try it out in the woods in an hour or two.

Yup. It's like something Charles Bronson would carry. :D

I wish suppressors were legal in Minnesota. :(

I have two 2206s, both with scopes. I find that the scopes really don't work well with this pistol, so I am going to take them off. But the 2206s (.22lr) are nice handguns.

Am getting ready to order a new upper for it with 10 inch barrel, threaded for my Silencer... The upper is made to accept the readily available Suomi mags ..... 75 round drums :D

I need to get the order in before the new king changes the law(s) (again).......

Land is fairly cheap around here bullit.... :D

However , my state and many others allow my type of gun to be legally owned...which mine is. It consists of paperwork, 6 month waiting period, and a one time $200 tax stamp on the gun....and a seperate $200 stamp for the silencer... Not sure which states for sure, but it is a "class 3" license that covers the full auto guns....

They are expensive guns, and expensive to shoot.... They also go up several hundred dollars a year in value....so they are a good investment ... (I stressed that point many times to my wife when I bought mine)... ;)

Mine is like the cheapest full auto gun...an "in the door gun"... 9mm is fairly cheap ammo..or was should I say... now its like 12 cents a round..???? With metal prices, ammo taxes, and the war.....

So when it dumps all 30 rounds in 1.2 seconds.... well thats like 3 bucks... :(

Thats 1,800 rounds per minute roughly.... The upper I am ordering has a variable r.o.f. ( rate of fire)... you can slow it down to I think around 1,100 ??? and clear up to 2,000 rounds per minute... (thats around 30 rounds in .8 seconds roughly I think is what they claim it will do.... amazing...

that would be great if it wasnt deer season. although this is a sport that most people choose not to do agn once they go once. 6 is a good bunch of pigs, any big ones? i lost one of my catchdogs last thursday night and havnt been hunting since. im down to 1 proven catchdog and i have a pup thats about a year old but dont know if he'll catch yet. first time i lost a dog on a pig and he was the perfect catchdog.

Still waiting on the .22LR bolt/kit (from Spike's Tactical,) front sight, flash hider, and charging handle. Everything has been ordered, but the evil black rifle industry has been getting slammed since the election... so I wait.

One of my "dealers" I had when I was on "the road" who lived up in the "mountain's" in Colorado, said "The only thing to do" was to "hunt and have sex". When I asked what the "Hunted",,,, guess what the answer was????
