It appears Tatanka's website isn't working lately.

I recaently heard from a Dist. for Tatanka trucks here in Texas that they went belly up. They notified him recently and said they were out of business no more Tatanka trucks. (Not really because I think who ever builds the Tatanka truck in China also builds the Vantage trucks and parts for Tiger trucks which are assembled in Oklahoma). Same company they just use 3 different names I think. Please correct me if Iam wrong. The now defunked Tatanka Dist. in Texas said China got a Suzuki and reversed engineered it.

I was wondering if Tatanka went out of business. I really liked their trucks too! They were better than the Tiger trucks (in my opinion anyways, I love the styling better).
So you are saying that you'd probably still be able to get the parts for Tatanka trucks if someone were to buy one??
Anyways, that would make me reconsider a Tatanka truck now. Ya don't want to have parts issues.

The Tatankas looked a good deal better in appearance than the Vantage and Tiger trucks, but like ya said, maybe some of the parts are similar.

I've email these guys last week and havent gotten a reply yet. Maybe closed for thanksgiving? Thier prices on thier website arent much cheaper than Tiger Trucks. So I think they'd have a hard time selling them in Oklahoma at those prices. But I'll wait to see what thier "dealer" prices are first. I know the prices direct from China are $4400 for the standard 2WD truck and approx. $750 per truck for shipping to Oklahoma. So around $5150 per truck. Before thier mark up.

Called my husband when I saw this. He asked his contact. So far there isn't a dist center in TX...so maybe some wrong info on all parts.

Just called them today. They say they will have the 4wd's in January. It seems they keep pushing the delivery date of the 4wd's back and back...:frustration:

I was wrong. Tatanka is still in business. I just got off the pone with them. Main hub location is S. Dakota. I was going by what the Dist. here in Cedar Park, Tx was telling me.
Tatanka said at sometime in the future they will be building trucks in S. Dakota and have a dist. in Oklahoma. Wonder if Tiger truck knows that? Any way they are still alive and see that they can be a replacement for the used kei (japan) mini truck. Oh, they will have a diesel model. I asked them for a dealer package, and will look at it and report back. Rich the man with Tatanka I talked to, more or less indicated that they were building a truck with different names. (Vantage,Tiger,Metro,Tatanka? Rich didnt say this I am).

I like them quite a bit. I'm sick of my gas guzzling suburban! I can fit all of my kids in those fancy 4doors. Its my new run around truck. I can't wait til I get it! Told us they are testing on hydrogen and e85 models. Should be interesting!
