    hi all,

this is aimed at no one in particular, but a little bit of venting and ranting i guess.

i really liked this forum. i used that in past tense purposely. now it's become yet another mud slinging, he-said-she-said payton place drama zone. i understand that everyone has a right of free speach, but this has just become too combative. i've really lost interest in it. i like sharing knowledge and "how-to" stuff... but it's just becoming so ugly around here.

i understand the basis of spreading the information and trying to form an alliance and maintain the importation of these vehicles. i also understand what a drastic effect it can have on some folks' livelyhood. i also understand that if we don't maintain their importation that the repair parts and support for these vehicles will dry up as well.

i'm on board to help in anyway i can. but i can't see condemning someone for registering a vehicle for street use if that's what their state allows. i know it's against federal regulation, and i'm sure they do too. when i tried to register my truck in arizona, they made me register it for on road use instead of off road only... i was just looking for a green sticker to take it to BLM areas.

i'll keep checking in now and then, keeping an eye on stuff, but, with all that said, you guys enjoy the fighting, bitching, bickering and mud slinging. have fun with all the "i told you so's" and someone give me a holler if they need some help with anything mechanical and drama free.

    cheers

    Milt...
I completely agree with you on this matter. We ALL know that registering these vehicles for any on-road use is currently taboo... it should be left alone there. Face it folks, people that have the avenue to use them on-road arent going to change their stance, regardless of how many posts you decide to take off-topic here with bitching and fighting.

My main point of this reply is to ask you NOT to leave. :(
I've enjoyed reading many of your posts and lurked here for quite some time before I decided to actively participate. You have alot of great information to share... for current users, and the many that will come as our hobby and industry continues to grow!

    DONT LEAVE US MAN!

My feelings were similar. Watching a few individuals blame people that chose to legally use their trucks to the fullest made me laugh at first. Then it made me question the intelligence of everyone on the board (which is wrong). So I just stopped reading the EPA-related threads.

Bam! The forums feel good again.

In the space of two weeks, my truck has went from being unreliable, to purring like a kitten. And all I can take credit for is operating the tools, the know-how came from the forums.

I am right with ya Milt.
And to add another issue is people, especially newbies sending me PM's about useless crap,or wanting me to tell them what they want to know instead of searching for themselves.
For the last few weeks all I have really done is check in periodically
Time to move on I think;)

    Agree,
It seems that it all started when, at some point, members were allowed to discuss how to illegally allow road use. Isn't this still a forum rule????? This was a good rule when it was enforced.... I say let the ones to want to take their legal jibber, jabber to their own web sites if they want too. I am sick of reading about members DMV woes. Seems like every other post is about a member that can't get road use, another member makes suggestions about loop holes, and yet another member states "off-road only" and then a argument starts. I understand about the EPA problems, and I believe this site is here to help dealers/importers to discuss and resolve. I'm confused......When do the rules apply?

I would like to personally thank the "*** holes" who ruined a site that helped me with, the purchase, questions, and starting some "online " friendships.
Milt, I do hope you reconsider. Same with you Glenn. Same with the rest of you "founding" members.

Like Rural, I just quit reading the EPA-related threads. They were getting a bit much for me...especially as I used to work for the EPA (shocking I know!) Perhaps that means I'm falling down on my moderator duties.

Greg brings up a good point about how we got lax about enforcing the "no-talking-about-tagging-yer-truck" rule. It wasn't a conscious choice really, just that it was getting hard to hold back the flood of posts without feeling like the "moderator-nazi". Free speach and all that. Should we go back and enforce that policy?

And it's gotten way past the time where I can read EVERY thread every day (although I used to). But I still kinda enjoy going on Spammer-Patrol as one of the first things I do in the morning. :D

Milt, I couldn't have said it better. The atmosphere of the site totally changed the past week or two. If it doesn't cool off soon, I'll be leaving as well.
But hopefully things will go back to how they used to be. Just enjoying our little trucks and learning from each other.

People want to talk about registering their kei trucks for road use, whether the truck is tagged as an automobile, a slow or medium speed vehicle, an ATV, or farm vehicle. People who own these trucks or who are considering getting them are naturally interested in what can be done with them. If the people who created and maintain this site do not want this subject to be discussed here, that is fine with me. But then some other site should be used for addressing this issue.

If these trucks can be registered under the laws of some states, I see no problem in doing so and reporting SOMEWHERE on the experience, even if there may be legal changes in the future.

I think some people have gotten on shaky ground trying to interpret the laws and regulations and then attempting to lobby public officials based on their interpretations. These are serious, difficult matters and should be approached with due respect and expertise.

Milt....et al Dont let them win Those of us who not only appreciate....but NEED... your level of expertise cant stop the mud-slinging retards. I ,too, am fed up with all the bs but if we quit the forum, the wrong people, those of you know who you are,....win. There is still a place for those of us with good intentions, and dont point fingers at others in a time of difficulty with these trucks, to continue, what has been, and hopefully will continue to be, such a great community.
Lets take our forum back, and for the sake of all of us, let cooler heads prevail

I have appreciated your insite on various subjects and normally always read your posts. A lot of things are happening as you know in the industry and we all need unity and support. Count me in too as one who hates bickering and feuding. It accomplishes NOTHING!

And, I too, consider the bickering a pass on the forum. If it said EPA or "I want to legalize..." I may read the first post by scrolling over it, but I usually pass it over.
I had 2 daughters move out, they were better than some of the posts I have read.
As to Milt et al, do not leave. Your insite and knowledge has gone a long way (as well as your humor!). Keep the trucks running, the fun coming, and the links stunning!
