Hi. first I would like to say thanks for a grate read.
several hours after finding this forum i thought i might as well join in.
I bought my hi-jet from fleabay for a bagine £32. (GB)
i bought it as an off roader as i'm in a club mainly full of suzuki owners.
i cleaned up the truck cheked the oil and took it for my first drive at a club event in a local quary. I did not get off the car park as the rear uv joint gave just as it came off the trailer:frustration:
I went to a scrap yard found a replacement and aftre a couple of hours it was ready to go.
my second attempt at off roading was still 3 weeks away and there were going to be trials to compeet in! so i needed good tyres. i found a local dealer that could get me 12 inch garden tractor tyers.
    i was all set...:)
on the day after copeeting I found that my truck had out shone several highly moderfide suzukie's:cool:
i even found myself in "total off road" magazine.
but after that days driving I knew there were several mods needed on the truck.
first was to replace the exhaust as i had ripped it off while driving through the ruts on the site:(
i also needed to give it a lift!
i fitted shakle lift from ebay (2inch) and a home made spacer above the coil springs.
i have taken the truck out several times now and after ripping the exhaust off another 2 or 3 times i have re located it.
i have fiited a second radiator and a roll cage.
next on the list is to finish the snorkle!
hope you like the photos i have attached:)
and if you would like to see more photos have a look round the diffrent folders in kalmac-photo
and my video clips.. some good some very bad...
youtube kalmac there is one clip in there were even with no exhaust I pull a jeep cheroke out the mud. all you can hear is the 850cc engine going for it:D
please coment on the clips if you wish
thanks again and im going back to reading your posts now. k

These little trucks never cease to amaze me. That's great that you were able to rescue the jeep!!! I like the off roading too and have a few shots on youtube as well as the gallery here. I had a surprising incident last week when we were trying to load a broken ford prerunner on to our trailer. Three of us tried pushing the truck on to the trailer and didn't have enough push between us to get it further than the rear wheels beginning to lift on to the ramps. we kinda kidded about using the mini to help pull. I thought it was going to look something like holding a mouse by the tail when we strapped the ford to the mini. I dropped in to 4-low and it groaned a little but walked it easily on to the trailer. never lost traction and pulled it from a dead stop right up the ramps and mine are only 550's. I like the lug tires, I'll be trying those when i replace my current set. Anything for a little more grip...

I love your roll cage. It kind of looks like the ones on Tatras at the truck trials.

    Another Hi from England.
Now we've got the Samber we are away most weekends. Just can't resist getting out, parking up behind a Country Pub, a few beers and a good nights sleep, then home.
Better than stopping in and watching the telly.

With the Teardrop Sleeper on the back and ready for off.
