i just got new boots for my mitsu, and can't find a service manual anywhere :( Can you just change the right and left outer boots with out taking the axles out?

unless they are split boots i think you have to remove the axle and take the CV off of it to install the new boot on the axle.

no there not two piece boots, i was hopping that the out CV comes off the axle so i don't have to take the inner CV a part. i have worked on quads and these axles are not much bigger but they could come a part different. do you think the outer CV comes off the axle?

If my CVs are clicking. Will changing the boot fix it or do I need to bring the CVs to a shop and have them rebuilt?
just heard the clicking this weekend and noticed the boots have been ripped.

a boot will not fix anything. you will have to at least clean them out and regrease them and put a new boot to keep the debris out. i have rebuilt some pretty bad looking cv's in the past and to be honest, for the amount of work it takes to get a boot on, you're half way through the rest.
