In my ongoing attempt to get my Carry wheel/tire/suspension in shape, my new (better) mechanic has indicated that the body mount bushings were both stripped and installed upside down by the previous shop. Anyone have a source for these? Did they even exist as an oem item?
Hmmm....can't find any evidence of an oem part. Did they even exist? The only thing I can find is aftermarket sets for the Samurai.
Okay...well, turns out there's no such thing. Except on my truck, where someone apparently DIY'd some where it's usually just a hard mount. Adventure!
Further research indicates that we are actually talking about engine crossmember bushings. I think. I'm trying to order the replacement bushings from MegaZip. Mini4x4.ca says you have to order the whole crossmember assembly, but that's $700 to get $30 worth of bushings.
Another pointless update. Turns out, it isn't the engine crossmember bushing either! This is something called a "front differential arm stopper", which is definitely different from the front differential bushings. Well, at least, I hope it is, as I've ordered the wrong part twice. Shout out to G&R Imports for being patient and helpful.
Any luck on sourcing the Front Differential Rear Support bushing? Everywhere I search it is discontinued.
29617-53F01 This is the part number for the stopper/diff mount. The only place I saw was from https://www.amayama.com/en/part/suzuki/2961753f01 that wasn't discontinued. I'm going for it. Will keep you updated.
Got some coming from GRImports. Maybe it’s correct. Lots of DIY remedies, but time saving if it’s correct.
