Hi All, has anyone added an ac to their ACTY? I have a 1993 ACTY without AC, but it has the heater fan. I’m interested in adding AC to my truck. TIA!

I would install a separate roof top mounted air conditioner system as used on small trucks, camper vans etc

I’m not familiar with that type of air conditioning system, but I’ll check it out. Thanks.

I like the design of this unit. I wished that it was that simple down here in south Florida to drive with the windows down. Today the heat index is 107 degrees. Plus we have the daily afternoon torrential rain.

Unfortunately the best and cheapest route is to buy an Acty that has air and sell yours.
Of course, if you have already heavily customized the truck, this might not be feasible.

My wife and I have gotten attached to the little one, so I’ll have to keep it. I will find a suitable aftermarket ac that will satisfy our basic needs. It’s not going to be our daily driver, so any makeshift ac unit will work just fine. Surprisingly, in my search, I found multiple sources that sells the oem ac unit for the ACTY. There’re very pricey though. Compared to the price of the aftermarket ac unit kits and the oem ones, I’ll go aftermarket for sure.

I’m leaning more towards a smaller system like those made for hot rods. I saw that the rooftop kits were much bigger than even the ones that came in the Acty, thus, demanding more from their small alternator. So, even a universal electric aftermarket ac system that blows only cool air will work for me.

Please post leads on the oem ac unit. My Acty originally came with ac but it looks as though a previous owner tried to do an ac delete -- there are bits and pieces but most ac components are missing. I've always thought of adding back the unit but never seriously looked into it. Would love to at least price it out, thanks.

On my Acty the AC did not work very well at the beginning when I bought it, then I cleaned the parts under the driver seat which was full of dust and completely clogged. My 1997 HA3 2WD Acty truck had the factory AC installed. Part of that was installed under the driver seat, here you can see all parts needed for the original one based on the chassis no. of my 1997 https://honda.epc-data.com/acty_truck/v-ha3/27518/

Thanks for the info. I was told that the 1998-2002 Honda Civic ac parts, as well as, other parts of the Civic will fit our ACTYs.
