This is a list of viable wheel and tire options for Sambars. If you have more data points to add please post them here. If you had to add spacers or mess with the suspension etc. to make the wheel/tire combo work please include that info. Bonus points if you have the actual manufacturer and part number so others can look them up and order the same thing.

I'm seeing a 195/50/R15, is that with stock height?

I got that from someone named Alex Brown who is a member of the Facebook group "Kei truck/van street scene". I can't find his post about it now, but my notes say that he said he was running those tires on a 1994 Sambar truck without any issues. While searching just now, I did find several posts from him saying he was running 15x8 wheels, which jives with the 195/XX-15 tire size I listed. I've asked him to clarify, we'll see if he wants to chime in.

Confirmed re: 195/50R15 tires: "They fit with no issues at all. I was surprised they fit as well as they did. This was on stock suspension."

Interesting, that's good to know, 15 inch wheel selection is so much larger than anything available in the 12-14 inch sizes.

They look good, too. Here is Alex Brown's truck with the 195/50R15 mounted.

I've seen those rims before on a couple Cappuccino's, that's a first on a Sambar. They do look good with the whitewall Toyo's.

In regards to the spacers, if you want to get these trucks on alignment racks, they do fit already but barely at stock width (portion of the rubber is floating), adding at least a 1" spacer will give the width needed to easily drive on as it puts them more inline with the track width of the first generation of smart cars, which I believe were the narrowest.
