HELP ! Increasing wheel well circumference to accommodate 15" tires and wheels

    Regarding my 1996 4WD ACTY - SDX:

    I bought 15" Bassett Racing Wheels and 15" all-season tires. The combo goes on fine, on the rear { although the sides can not drop fully because of the combo diameter and offset { no dealbreaker there ! }

    The front end is another story. The way I see it, I have two options: I can either put on a two or 3 inch lift kit, which I would prefer not to because of the center of gravity being raised. My second option is to remove some of the metal from the front wheel wells to accommodate the tire/rim combination.

    Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm contemplating either doing the work myself regarding the auto body surgery, or going to an auto body shop.

    ,Thanks in advance to everyone for reading and replying.

  2. I think the approach I would take would start with finding a different tire that is a lower profile to fit the current wheel well if you are absolutely in love with these wheels. Or change up the wheel and tire combo completely to something that fits. I think modifying the car to fit wheels is the wrong approach unless its some crazy bbs rs show car.

    Jon,
    Tx for the reply.. My bad, they are 14" wheels and rubber.

    I decided to NOT alter the body. I will go with the lift kit. I'm not going to eat the cost of four brand new tires and/or wheels. That option would only be for those that are insane or have $$$ to burn. I know of politicians that fit the bill exactly { not me in either way }..

    I'm not the purist { those individuals that to have their ACTY or other KEI Truck, 100% stock }....

    Peace!
