Hi, I recently purchased my Acty Attack model and wanted to share some of my experience so far. My use case for this truck is mostly just around the farm and woods, but I wanted to be able to drive it on the road as well. So I wanted an aggressive tire that was taller than stock for additional ground clearance but still DOT approved to run on the street. After research on here and other places I settled on the tires - Rocky Mountain ATV Tusk Terrabite 25x8-12. They are load rated to 555lbs, and when asking the folks at Rocky Mountain ATV they measured up an inch shorter than listed.

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to do the 2" lift or not, because I really just wanted enough lift to clear the tires in the front, since the ground clearance is only improved by the tire height change. So i decided to see what the progressive 225/475 QA1 springs would give me for lifting up the body in the front. Photo below is the before of ground to door height. mini before tire.jpg

I picked up 1" from the progressive springs. They also didn't bottom out anymore which is great. Picture below is post tires and springs.

I was really hoping that I could keep the stock rims knowing that the wider rims sometimes have caused clearance issues on some of these trucks with taller tires. I knew of examples where these tires were put on 4" wide rims. Maybe those would have been easier, but we finally got it to work with the 3.5" ones. I didn't have the bead setting goop, so had to resort to play dough. Clearance wise everything was great once I removed the front mud flaps. It rides so much better now than when I got it.

Looks good! Any rubbing issues throughout suspension travel?

I had to remove the stock mudflaps in front. I'm going to work on them to remove the high spots and try to put them back on. Other than that there is no rubbing on any metal

hi! i have a suzuki carry da63t. it’s good to know you can put a 25”x8”-12 tire on stock 4” rim. i though that’s a no-no...now i’m thinking of putting AMS M1 Evil 25x8 on stock rims so both tires and rims are DOT legal. what so u think?

On my DA63T I have 25 inch tires and a four inch lift kit and you need to do some cutting with the stock springs. Maybe you can get away with it if you use stiffer springs.

thanks saitco. i think we have the same setup.

i’m using 4” grimport lift & 300lbs blue front springs up front. in the back the grimport lift block is actually only 3”, so i added 1 more leaf from mini4x4 to the oem leaf pack to level the back end (& up the box carrying capacity ~125% from 350kg). i have already trim my front wheelwell metal fold and plastic wheel flap (+ i have also 1” or 2” wheel spacers), so that should be ok fit for 25” tires. What tire-rim width & backspacing are you running & how many inches they stick out of the body?

the only hesitation i have about 25” tires vs 23” tires is the gutless engine. i need to drive both offroad and on hwy (at least 90km) on the same tire set and want to know if it’s even possible in 4th without lugging it (i imagine 5th will be out of the question).

    I have MSA M33 clutch wheels. Part#M33-02710https://msawheels.com/collections/wheels/products/msa-clutch?variant=35026642010264

I have 2 inch adapters/spacers to fit the new bolt pattern. They stick out about a couple inch, I plan to build fenders this summer. My truck is not road legal so I never hit the pavement. Even in first gear low range I can get into some rare situations where the truck will run out of torque before grip. Unless you really need the extra ground clearance or the better load rating of bigger tires I would stick with 23 inch tires especially if you want to hit the highway.

that’s good advise about not maxing out the torque available from these tiny engine with use of 25” tires. i was doing lots of research for dot 25” off road tire & have found a really good candidate tire & $ price for it (AMS M1 Evil 25x8r12 @ $148cad/each + $171shipping). I have to admit if that tire was available in 23” or 24” size, i would jump on it without hesitation. It’s too bad most Dot approved offroad tire suitable for hwy use are in the bigger sizing (25”+), so i’m back to my research now...

Going forward, I guess it’s a moot point trying to look for a DOT approved atv tire. My understanding is that depending on your jurisdiction, all “DOT”Atv/UTV tires may soon be illegal for public road use regardless of what it says on the tire...

FYI: I came across this statement from a March 16 Release from GBC:

“GBC Powersports previously used steel-belted light truck standard (FMVSS 119) as the unit of measurement for calling a UTV tire "street legal." However, we were informed by NHTSA/DOT that this measurement cannot be used, as the language of FMVSS 119 does not specifically include UTV vehicles. Therefore, we cannot use FMVSS 119 as a measurement of certification.”

“NHTSA/DOT has notified GBC and other manufacturers to remove the "DOT" stamp from all UTV tires. There will be no change to the construction or design of our UTV tires. GBC will continue to design and test our UTV tires to a level that we believe is appropriate for UTV use in multiple terrains and various road surfaces. The "DOT" mark will be removed from GBC UTV tire sidewalls, and we will no longer make any remarks to "DOT approval," "DOT certified," or "street-legal." Currently, there is no legally permissible way to street legalize a UTV tire as there is no federal regulation or standard in the United States Federal Register.”

Hi, so I just came across these this week, it's a Canadian option for those who are in Canada.
The specs is exactly what I've been looking for, DOT with 82T @ the 14" rim sizing.

    82=1049lbs T=190km/hr
