When I got my truck the tailgates rattled and banged together. Took a piece of 5/8 heat shrink tube and put a piece over each of the latch hooks. It tightened up the latches and tailgates are tight and quiet.
Nice solution. But, did you adjust the latches first. All four of the latches are mounted in slots, and will loosen over time, requiring that hey be adjusted.
