Has anyone tried the dump box conversion kit from mini4x4.ca?
at $1200 for all you need the price isn't too crazy, I'm really tempted to give it a go.
    Realistically I would only use the dump 6 x a year .
I could likely put together my own kit from Princess Auto but I'm not interested in the R&D at this point.
If anyone can point me to good pics of the stock dump mechanism that would be cool.
It looks like there is 2 different versions , the heavy duty one and one that uses the standard box.
I just ordered wheels and tires from the same company , if that goes well I my try this kit for xmas.

One guy bought that kit on FB and he had to do alot of modif to make it works. I dont know what model of truck he had. I decided to build mine from scratch. You can go overkill like me or go more basic like Motocheez on youtube. Just price a cylinder and a power unit and see how it compares to that kit.

I have purchased a lot of parts from mini4x4. Its a good company. I spoke to them about the dump kit and they said its all a bolt in kit. However, if you truck has A/C , you will have to remove the radiator looking device under the frame as that is where their hydraulics package mounts. I guess you could have someone custom make some new hoses and relocate that device somewhere else , but I opted to keep my A/C intact and forego the tilt bed.

IMG_1220.jpeg Kit arrived today , it'll be a week or 2 before I start fiddling with this , there is some welding and grinding involved , it's not a straight bolt in kit, It does look pretty robust though, I am pleased. I'll post photos as I get on with it.

can you post some pics ? How much of a pain was it to remove all the bolts on the pickup box? Have you tried to lift some weight in the box yet? I was curious if the box retains its basic shape while lifting.

Took 15 minutes to remove the bed, haven't tried to lift anything yet, seems pretty sturdy, the cylinder is mounted about 10 inches off centre so I imagine a heavy load will have some twisting action but I doubt it would bend out of shape, max lift is pretty close to 45 degrees

Dump angle and cycle time are good but I'm not a fan of the off-center cylinder mounting point.Lets us know if its an issue down the road.

That is exactly backwards from the stock setups. On them the cylinder mounts between the tabs on the white cross bar, with the ram going forward. A much more stable system, and less likely to allow the bed to flex in bad ways. and, the ram has more leverage to lift the bed.

Real designers plagiarize what the last guys did.
